Mrs. Dorothy E. Spencer Freeman,
Chase, will be buried this afternoon
in Huntsville Cemetery. Funeral
services will be conducted by Rev.
Andrew Hardman from the Pillar
of Fire Church on Plymouth Moun-
tain where the body will lie in state
from 11:30 until 2 p.m.
Mrs. Freeman, 67, passed away
Tuesday morning after a long ill-
ness. Born in Jackson Township, she
spent her entire life in the area.
Her parents, the late Benjamin and
Ophelia Steele Lozier, were -instru-
mental in the founding of the Pil-
lar of Fire Church of which Mrs.
Freeman was a member.
She is survived by a son, Benja-
min Spencer, of Chase; a daughter,
Mrs. Martin Stelevic, Larksville; a
sister, Mrs. Martha Hunter, Larks-
ville; two brothers, Llewellyn Lozier,
Benton, and William Lozier, Jack-
son Township.

Dies Suddenly
Funeral Tomorrow
At Maple Grove
Funeral services for Mrs, Fallie B.
Steele, Sweet Valley RD, will be
conducted tomorrow at 1 p.m. from
the Bronson Funeral Home by Rev.
Albert Hillard and Rev. Ira Button.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cem-
etery. Friends may call tonight, 7
to 10 p.m.
Mrs. Steele, 76, in failing health
for several years, died Tuesday
night of a sudden heart attack,
after a day when she had felt in
exceptionally good health, able to
play with the little grandchild
across the road at the Steele res-
taurant. :
Born in Sweet Valley, daughter
of the late Vincent and Evelyn
McCreary Keller, she lived in the
until July 4, she and her husband
would have celebrated their 58th
wedding anniversary.
For twenty-five years Mr. and
Mrs. John Steele operated the res-
taurant on Route 115 a short dis-
tance beyond the Pikes Creek inter-
section, now owned and operated
by their son Basil, a teacher at
Lehman - Jackson - Ross. Since its
early beginning, the restaurant has
been famous for its home-baked
pies.
Mrs. Steele was very active at
Maple Grove Church, a trustee and
member of the official board, and
treasurer of the WSCS.
She is survived by her husband
John; children: Mrs. Inez Taylor,
Montgomery; Russell, Lehman; Gor-
don, Tunkhannock; Basil, Sweet
Valley; Mrs. Emma Ide, Lehman;
Arden, Verona, N. Y.; twenty-two
grandchildren and fifteen great-
grandchildren. There are seven
brothers and sisters: Ernest Keller,
Loyalville; Mrs. Maude Brandon,
Lehman; William Keller, Franklin-
ville, N. Y.; Vintie Keller, Lancaster,
N. Y.; Mrs. Warren Boston, Pikes
Creek; Loren Keller, Idetown florist;
and Kenneth Keller, DePew, N. Y.
Russell Bogart Dies
After Long Illness
Russell Bogart, Idetown, resident
of Idetown for the past four years,
died Sunday morning after a linger-
ing illness. He was buried in Wood-
lawn Cemetery Wednesday after-
noon, Rev. Alfred Colletti, pastor of
the Luzerne Assembly of God, offi-
ciating.
A native of Jamison, he lived in
Kingston and Forty Fort before
moving to Idetown.
He is survived by his widow, the
former Marguerite Rolison; child-
ren: Mrs. Harold Gray, Idetown; W.
O. Francis Bogart, with the Air
Force; John, Kingston; and Mrs.
Larry Shupp, Kunkle; a brother,
grandchildren and several nieces
and nephews.
Carl J. Schreiner
Dies In Prime
Burial Services Today
At 2:30 At Snowdon's
{Carl J. |Schreiner, Harveys Lake,
will be buried this afternoon in Mt.
Greenwood Cemetery. [Services will
be conducted by Rev. Carl J. Schind-
ler, pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran
Church, from the Snowdon Funeral
Home, North Franklin Street, at
2:30. Masonic services were con-
ducted last night by Fidelity Lodge
655.
Mr. Schreiner, 58, died in Wyo-
ming Valley Hospital early Wednes-
day morning. He was admitted as
a medical patient on Saturday.
Mr. Schreiner, in the prime of
life, tall and vigorous, was im-
mensely popular, both in Wilkes-
Barre, where he spent the greater
part of his life, and at Harveys
Lake where he took up residence
a year ago. He was born in Wilkes-
Barre, son of the late Charles and
Anna Weitzel Schreiner.
Fleet superintendent of the Steg-
maier Brewing Company, he was
active in community ‘affairs in
Wilkes-Barre. He belonged to Lions
Club, Eagles, Elks and Moose of
Wilkes-Barre. Masonic affiliations
included Fidelity Lodge 655, Cald-
well (Consistory, and Irem Temple.
He was past past president of Lu-
zerne County Chapter, Pennsylvania
Motor Truck Association, a director
of the Autocraft Association of
Wilkes-Barre, and member of the
Machinist's Union. He was a trustee
of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his widow, the
former Beatrice Frisbie; a son Carl,
Jr., Harveys Lake; a brother, Wil-
liam, of Reading; two grandchildren,
Carl III and Frank Schreiner, Har-
veys Lake.
Mrs. Gladys McHugh,
North Lake Dies At 64
Mrs. Gladys McHugh, North Lake,
died last Sunday aged 64. She
was buried in Shawnee Cemetery
Wednesday morning, following ser-
vices conducted from a Plymouth
funeral home by Rev. Harry E.
Smith, First Methodist Church.
Mrs. McHugh, a native of Ply-
mouth, is survived by her husband
Daniel, and a daughter, Mrs. Wil-
liam Coursen, Trenton, N. J.
Native Of Poland
Dies In Trucksville
Michael P. Dainowski, Harris Hill
Road, a native of Poland, passed
away Thursday night after several
months of illness in the home which
he had occupied for the past three
years. He was buried Monday mor-
ning in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ber-
wick, following a requiem mass at
St. Hedwig’s, Kingston.

Mrs. Verna Steele
Rests At Lateer
Mrs. Verna Steele, widow of Wil-
liam Steele, Sweet Valley, was
buried in Letteer [Cemetery Wednes-
day afternoon, following services
conducted by Rev. Albert Hillard,
Maple Grave charge, from the
Bronson Funeral Home. Pallbearers
were nephews: Silas, Ord, Narvel,
Kenneth Blaine, Lewis Ferry and
Howard Piatt.
- Mrs. Steele, 71, died Sunday
morning at General Hospital.
A native of Sweet Valley, she
was of pioneer stock, daughter of
the late Silas and Evaline VanHorn
Blaine, Except for twelve years
spent in Wyoming, she lived in the
Sweet Valley area all her life.
She is survived by a son Alton,
Noxen; a daughter, Dorothy Cor-
bett, Newark, N. J.; four grandchil-
dren; and a brother, Joseph Blaine,
Sweet Valley.
Infant Dies
Richard, infant son of Mr. and
Mrs. Daniel Warner, Harveys Lake,
died shortly after birth Wednesday
morning. in Mercy Hospital. The
baby was buried in Qaklawn Ceme-
tery after private funeral services.
