Mr. and Mrs. Fred Updyke, Sweet
Valley, left to spend three weeks in
Florida on Monday.
Gathering for Ornan Lamb's birth-
day on Sunday, were members of
the family: Janice, senior at Syra-
cuse University, who arrived on
Friday for the mid-semester holi-
day; Mr. and Mrs. William Major
and son Stephen, from Bethlehem;
and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Twitchell,
Fayetteville, N. Y./
Mrs. Reuben Morrish, Harrisburg,
spent the weekend at the home of
her sister, Mrs. D. L. Edwards, Deer-
field Farm. Mrs. Edwards who has
been ill at General Hospital, is
steadily improving.
Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Smith,
Machell Avenue, will leave two
weeks from today for Vero Beach,
Fla., where they will spend several
weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Shortz and
family have purchased and will
move into a home in Kingston
shortly. They have been living in
the Schooley homestead at Orange.
Marilyn Lundy returned to Wash-
ington D.C.
spending the mid semester vacation
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Herbert Lundy of Dallas. Marilyn
who just completed her course at
Washington University, will be em-
ployed in the Bureau of Standards
at the Capital.
‘Mr. and Mrs. Michael Dizio and
family have moved from Washing-
ton D.C. to Huntsville Road, Dallas.
Mr. Dizio is associated with the Otis
Elevator Company, Philadelphia, as
engineer.
Sherwood Wilson, son of Mr. and
Mrs. John Wilson, Sherbrook Farm,
Trucksville, member of the Sopho-
more (Class at Pennsylvania Mili-
tary College, is spending the mid-
semester vacation with a classmate,
John Rhuark of Carrolton, Ohio.
Mr. and Mrs. John H. Blackman
who have been spending the past
several weeks in Florida, have re-
turned to their home in Idetown.
Announcement has been made of
the engagement of Nancy Congdon,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl L.
Congdon, of Demunds Road, and
student at Temple University, to
David F. Kulp, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Charles H. Kulp, of Trenton, N. J.
Airman Kulp is stationed at Mc-
Guire Air Force Base, Trenton, N. J.
No date has been set for the wed-
ding.
Mr. and Mrs. Reynold Watkins,
of Shavertown, have as guests, their
son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Alan Watkins and daughter.
Mr. Watkins, student at Penn State
semester vacation with his parents.
Mr. and Mrs. William Golightly,
Hunlock (Creek, R. D., have an-
nounced the birth of a baby girl
at Nesbitt Hospital on January 22.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kleekner and
family, have moved from Hatboro,
Pa., to Wyoming Avenue, Dallas. Mr.
Kicekner is an accountant at the
Barre.
Mr. and Mrs. William Heckman
and sons, have purchased and
moved into a new home at Oak
Hill. Mr. Heckman works for the
Red Cross.
Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Lord, Sweet
Valley R.D., have announced the
birth of a baby boy at Nesbitt Hos-
pital on January 29.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ray, Shav-
ertown, entertained members of the
Couples Club of Prince of Peace
Church on Tuesday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Stroud,
Sweet Valley, announce the birth
of a baby girl at Mercy Hospital on
January 29.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Everall
Eaton—a son, Dennis Alan, on.Jan-
uary 26th.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph J. Perry, of
Walnut Lane Farm, and the Rev.
and Mrs. William Gray and family,
of Wysox, Pa. are en route to Hous-
ton, Texas, to attend the wedding
‘of Dr. Jerome Perry, formerly of
Orange, on February 8th. Dr. Perry
is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Perry
and the brother of Mrs. Gray.
William Wright, Ridge Street, at-
tended a nation-wide meeting of
representatives of Carroon and Rey-
nolds Insurance men at the home
office in New York last week.
Mrs. W. F. Newberry, Stone
Acres, is leaving today for Miami.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Tinsley and
children, of Philadelphia, spent the
weekend with Mrs. Tinsley’s par-
enté Mr. and Mrs. Walter Davis,
Davenport Street, and with Mrs.
Calvin Tinsley of Mountain Top.
Mr. and Mrs, John Cox who ar-
rived here from Liverpool, England,
a week ago and who have been
house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ron-
ald Carruthers, left Sunday to make
their home in New Jersey. Mr. Cox
is being employed by the Federal
Telephone and Telegraph Company.
Mrs. George Seelandt of Eliza-
beth Street, returned Wednesday
from Long Island, New York, after
visiting her brother Harry Davis,
who has been hospitalized for some
time. During her stay in New York,
Mrs. Seelandt was a house guest of
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bennett.

been confined to his home the past

Joel Rood, member of the Junior
Class at Penn State College, is
spending the mid-year vacation at
his home in Sweet Valley.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rowlands
and Betsy and Judy and grand-
daughter, Sandra Miller, spent the
weekend in Baltimore, Md. visiting
Mr. and Mrs. Bert Fennell Jr. It
was Marilyn Fennell’s second birth-
day anniversary. En route home
they picked up Mrs. Bernard Stoner
and Jackie at Pennington, N. J. and
brought them home for a visit.
Mr. and Mrs. Stephen DeBarry
and Stephen Jr. have taken up res-
idence at Oak Hill, Dallas R. D. 4.
Mrs. DeBarry is the former Betty
Reese, daughter of Dr. L. S. Reese
of Kingston. Mr. DeBarry is asso-
ciated with the Maxson Corporation
at Old Forge.
Mrs. Margaret Hildebrant, Nor-

this pie creamy, smooth and deli-

Buttermilk Pie
14 recipe pie dough
1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons flour
14 teaspoon salt
3 egg yolks slightly beaten
2 cups buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla
14 cup butter melted
3 egg whites beaten until stiff
Line a 9 inch pie pan with pie
dough that has been rolled out to
1% inch thickness. Fold edge to
form standing rim; flute. Combine
the sugar, flour and salt. Blend
thoroughly. Combine buttermilk,
yolks.
