$1000 To Fund
Lehman Women
Assist Firemen
Lehman Fire Company Auxiliary
Fire Hall building fund at Monday
night’s meeting, practically deplet-
ing the treasury to assist the men
in their proposed addition. The new
portion of the building will cost
$6,000, half of which is already at
hand.
Buildidg will start shortly, plans
taking advantage of the slope of
the land to provide lower quarters
for fire truck end ambulance. The
structure will have a separate en-
trance. Placed at one corner of the
present building and farther down
the street, it will not interfere with
the balance of the present design.
The interior of the original build-
ing will be given over entirely to a
much enlarged meeting room and
kitchen. The partition between the
present meeting room and the fire
truck room will be removed, with
knotty pine panelling extended to
the walls to match the original
meeting room. Plans call for an
area large enough for dancing.
Women of the auxiliary plan to
remodel the present kitchen, to pro-
vide more space and larger serving
facilities. In advance of remodel-
ling, Mrs. Kenneth Hess was ap-
pointed by Mrs. Stuart Marks, pres
ident, to reduce the kitchen to ord-
er after a summer of non-occu-

Weatherlys To Spend
Winter In Dallas
Rev. and Mrs. Ralph Weatherly,
Grace Church, Kingston, will be
| winter residents of Dallas while the
| new ‘rectory is being finished. They
| will move into Mrs. Roscoe Lee's
| home in mid-October, two or three
| days after Mrs. Lee and Jack start
for Florida.
The old rectory on Butler Street
i has been sold, and though the new
building is under roof, the interior
| is far from completed.
The Weatherlys expect to enjoy
Dallas. A number of communicants
| of Grace Episcopal Church live in
| this area.
pancy.
The business meeting following
the covered dish supper was de-
| voted largely to a discussion of
| ways and means to make money
| for remodelling the kitchen, an ex-
penditure not included in the Fire
{Company budget. With more space
to prepare and serve meals, the
auxiliary will be able to cater to
larger groups, with larger receipts
expected.
Mrs. Marks wishes to give special
credit to the original members of
the Lehman Auxiliary, whose un-
flagging efforts raised the greater
part of the money now presented to
the Fire Hall building fund.
They are Mesdames Morton Con-
nelly, Anna Beisel, Edward Oncay,
Charles Ely, Leonard Ide, George
Stolarick, Lewis Ide, Howard Ehret,
Clara Mekeel, James Davenport, Sr.,
