Outing And Program
At Wat-A-hunee Park
The Jefferson (Club will hold its
fall Get oTgether and Outing Sun-
day afternoon at 2 at Sgarlet’s
Wat-a-hunee Park; Sandy Beach,
Harveys Lake.
Joseph A. Mundy, president, ex-
tends an invitation to all members,
their friends and prospective mem-
bers to participate. There will be
games, a floor show, refreshments
and dancing to the music of Panky
Stolarick’s Orchestra.
The committees are making ar-
rangements to handle the largest
crowd ever attending a Jefferson
Club function. There is no admis-
sion,

Auxiliary Board Plans
For Bazaar Nov. 5 and 6
Executive Board of Prince of
Peace Auxiliary met Tuesday night
at the home of ‘Mrs. Curtis Prothero
to lay further plans for the annual
Bazaar, scheduled for November 5
and 6. :
Mrs. C. A. Woodruff, president;
Mrs. Charles Brooks, and Mrs. Al-
fred James, will attend a three-day
convention at Hawthorn Inn, in the
Poconos, September 26, 27 and 28.
Mrs. F. N. Rupprecht, Wyoming
Valley of Churches, will speak at
the general meeting Tuesday eve-
ning at 8.
Other board ‘members present
were Mesdames Donald Clark, Rob-
ert Weaver, Paul Goddard, Ben Ed-
wards, E. Ratcliffe, (Calvin Hall, John

Vernon.
National Birthday
Members of Meeker Methodist
WSCS celebrated the fifteenth an-
niversary of its founding Tuesday
evening with a birthday cake blaz-
ing with candles, which was cut by
the president, Mrs. Lloyd Rogers.
Mrs. Russel! Steele spoke on “How
Rich A Heritage,” sketching the na-
tional history of the organization,
and Mrs. Rogers took the local
angle.
Mrs. Letha Wolfe led devotions.
Mrs. Eugene Robinson reviewed a
chapter in the study book. Hostesses
were Mrs. Karl Rebbennack and Mrs.
Robinson. Others present were Mes-
dames Morton Connelly, William and
Arthur Hoover, Gordon James, L.
W. Karschner, Walter Kyttle, Sadie
Rossman, John and Albert Rében-
nack, Glendoris Shilanski, Helene

Mrs. Harry Brown
Breaks Leg In Fall
Mrs. Harry Brown, Church Street,
tripped on the top step'of the cel-
lar stairs Saturday afternoon, frac-
turing the same leg that was broken
some years ago. She was taken to
Mercy Hospital by Dallas Commu-
nity Ambulance, Al Shaffer, Leslie
Barstow, and Leonard Harvey of-
ficiating. She was in traction for
nine months before union could be
accomplished the last time the bone
was broken.

The family of the late Peter West-
field wish to thank the community
for the sincere sympathy extended
them during the time of their recent
bereavement, and especially those
friends and neighbors who furnished
cars, sent flowers and cards, and
performed thoughtful acts of per-
sonal service.
