A ZONING ORDINANCE REGU-
LATING THE LOCATION, [CON-
STRUCTION AND USE OF BUILD-
INGS, THE DENSITY OF POPULA-
TION, AND THE USE OF LAND IN
THE TOWNSHIP OF LEHMAN,
LUZERNE COUNTY, PENNSYL-
VIANIA.
Be it ordained and enacted, by
the Township [Supervisors of the
Township of Lehman, at a regular
meeting assembled April 7, 1955,
that the Township of Lehman is
hereby divided into various Zones
known as Agricultural, Commercial,
Industrial, and Residential, and that
following such Zones be, and they
are, hereby created and established
as follows:
SECTION I. DEFINITIONS
1. Residential — in which only
family dwellings are permitted, with
small gardens attached, strictly and
exclusively residential.
2. Commercial—in which are per-
mitted residences, business estab-
lishments, gasoline stations, etc.
13. Industrial—in which are per-
mitted residences, business estab-
lishments, gas stations, and in ad-
dition thereto, factories, manufac-
turing plants, etc.
4. Agricultural—in which any
use of the above Zones are per-
mitted.’
‘SECTION II. ZONES
INDUSTRIAL
The following highways and the
land bounding thereon for a dis-
tance of 500 feet from the center
line on both sides thereof, are here-
by designated as INDUSTRIAL
ZONES.
ZONE 1. Pennsylvania [State
Highway Route 115 from the Dal-
las Township - Lehman Township
line to the Lehman Township-Lake
Township line; excepting, however,
along said Pennsylvania State High-
way Route 115 at Lehman Center, a
distance of one-half mile in each
direction from the Memorial Plaque,

also all of the Pennsylvania State
Highway Road following the Har-
veys Lake shore from Devlin’s Dock
to the Lehman Township-Lake
Township. line at Sunset.
An area of 400 feet on either
side of the above area or highways,
is hereby designated as COMMER-
CIAL.

SECTION III. Topographic maps
made by the U. S. Geological Sur-
vey are hereby directed to be placed
on file in the office of the Town-
ship Secretary on which there shall
be designated all of the above

SECTION IV. No barriers or
fences may be erected between
commercial properties which might
obstruct the free flow of commerce.
SECTION V. There is hereby es-
tablished a building line at least
twenty-five (25) feet from the
right-of-way line of every highway,
and eight (8) feet from any side
line.
SECTION VI. Residential lots
shall contain at least six thousand
(6,000) square feet of land and the
length shall not exceed three times
the width thereof, unless such resi-
dential lot is fifty (50) feet or more
in width.

Resolutions or parts of Ordinances
and Resolutions inconsistent here-
with, be and the same are hereby
repealed.
