Prom Tonight
Springtime Gambol
At Dallas-Franklin
The “Springtime Gambol” will be
held tonight at 8 at the Dallas-
Franklin High School, with music
by Panky Stolarick and his orches-
tra. A springtime theme features a
rock garden, wishing well, swing,
frolicking lambs and parasols.
Working on committees are: Mol-
lie Carey, Ellen Walsh, (Carol Alte-
mus, John Senchak, Nancy Dickson,
Rosalind Keiper, Rosemary Stofila,
Ray Shultz, Joan Swales, William
Weidner, Ernest Parsons, Marilyn
Conden, Jeanette Sutton, Dale Wag-
ner, Jean Mead, Mary Jane Tryon,
David Goddard, Thomas Schmidle,
Jane Matchett, Alice Ochs, Nelson
{Conden, Verna Wagner, Beverly
Dixon and Marilyn Welsh.
Mimics and Mask Club will pre-
sent “Orchids for Margaret” at as-
sembly Wednesday morning, starring
Anne Dorrance, Donald Bellas, Jerry
Lancio, Ruth Beagle, Elouise Holm-
gren, Audrey Race. Lois Carey is
student director. Stage crew: Harold
Ochs, Ralph Redmond; director,
Edgar Hughes.
On May 16, the agriculture boys
went to Newell Wood’s farm where
they were shown around horse
barns and ‘dog kennels by Edward
Gutridge; May 20, to Lake Louise
Farm where they were shown the
calf, bull, maternity, and dairy
barns by Harry Goeringer, Jr. They
were taken on the trips by Sheldon
Mosier.
The Hi-Y and Key Club plan a
picnic at Mayer's Grove, Harveys
Lake, June 7.
The Hi-Y will make a presenta-
tion of items useful on the football
field, including a set of sideline
markers, a down indicator, two first
down terminal posts and chain, and
a set of red corner flags on rubber
staffs.
The shop building is progressing,
the concrete block walls more than
half erected, under-floor and under-
ground plumbing completed, includ-
ing the entire sewage system. All
steam mains and entrances are com-
pleted ready to start on fininshing
work as soon as the walls and floors
are completed. No electrical work
has yet been started.
School will be closed on Memorial
Day, dismissed at noon on exam-
ination days.

3, Senior examinations.
Friday, June 3, [Class Night.
Sunday, June 5, Baccalaureate
Services.
Friday, Monday and Tuesday,

Harveys Lake Post Plans
Exercises At Kocher
Harveys Lake Post 967 American
Legion will hold Memorial Day serv-
ices at Kocher Cemetery at 11 a.m.,
meeting at Pine Grove and march-
ing in a body. Frank Lutinski, com-
mander, has arranged for a firing
squad from Red Rock Radar Station
to participate. Rev. Henry Kraft,
pastor of St. Luke's Lutheran
Church, Noxen, will speak as chap-
lain.
A Grave Committee, Tony Jav-
ers, Garvin Smith, Stephen Glova,
Leo Wodaski, Thomas Bozek, and
Leo Yankowski, are checking ceme-
Pikes Creek and Loyalville, for dis-
tribution of flags and markers.
Families of veterans who have been
buried within the past year may con-
tact the committee to obtain such
flags and markers.

Staff Needed
For Wildwood
Onawandah Opens
June Sixth
Executive board of Back Moun-
tain District Girl Scouts met Mon-
day for lunch at the home of the
district chairman, Mrs. James C.
Edwards. A program on the inter-
national phase of Girl Scout work
was discussed for the District cov-
ered dish supper to be held Thurs-
day, June 2, at 6:30 at Wildwood.
Louise Olmstead appealed for of-
fice help in assembling and addres-
sing camp folders. Unit leaders, as-
sistant leaders, and one water-front
director are still needed to com-
plete the Wildwood staff. Minimum
age for staff members is 18. Mrs.
John Wardell announced that a
Primitive Unit had been organized.
Camp will be open from July 5 to
28. Senior troops will camp at Wild-
wood June 17-19.
Camp Onawandah will be open
from June 6 to August 6.
A workshop for older interme-
diates and senior Girl Scouts was
held yesterday from 4:30 to 7 at
Kirby Park. Girls took a nosebag
supper, knife, rope or‘twine, and a
small bundle of wood for lashing.
Mrs. Boyd Dodson reported a total
of 366 Easter favors distributed to
area hospitals and homes for the
aged.
Mrs. Charles Nuss disclosed a
need for troops at Lake Silkworth,
with much interest evidenced, but a
lack of leaders.
It was decided to invite persons
from Beaumont interested in Scout-
ing to participate in activities in the
Back Mountain District.
Three Courts of Awards will be
held shortly: Trucksville-Carverton,
May 31; Shavertown, June 9, Lake-
Noxen, later in June.
Executive Board will meet Tues-
day, September 13.
