FRIDAY, MARCH 25, 1955 Albert Casterline suffered a slight stroke last week. He is able to sit up an hour each day. Mr. and Mrs. Fred (Coole and Peggy and Billy, Mrs. Herman Pease and Mary Ellen, Mrs. Emma Hale, motored to Savona, N. Y., Sunday and called on Mrs. Coole’s brother, Cecil Hale and family. Mrs. Vane Race has been con- fined to her home this past week with illness. Mr. and Mrs. Nick Novah and son, Nick, visited Mrs. Novah’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Beahm this week- end. Mr. and Mrs. Richard and Roger, Vane Race and visited Mrs. on Sunday. the grippe for several days. Dan Smith who had his hand mangled in a machine at Armour Leather Company recently, expects to return to the hospital this week. He will lose several of his fingers. Mr. and Mrs. Robert May and son, Billy, were in Wilkes-Barre Satur- day. While there they visited Mr. and Mrs. Fred Harlow at Kingston, where Mr. Harlow is convalescing after a three week's stay at Nes- bitt Hospital as a result of a heart attack. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Beahm and Mr. and Mrs. Nick Novak and son, Nick, also called at the Harlow home on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Casterline had as callers on Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Casterline of Shaver- town, and Mr. and Mrs. Nevin Ben- ner, Richfield, Pa. Mrs. Benner is staying for a week to help care for her father who is ill. Mrs. Warren Montross visited her husband who is a patient at Vet- erans Hospital on Sunday and found him much improved. He hopes to get home some time this week. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Dent and Patricia and Marilyn of Bloomsburg, visited Mrs. Dent's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Dotter and her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Kresge on Sunday. Noxen firemen were called upon to extinguish a fire in the chimney at the home of John Hallock during the heavy windstorm Sunday night. Junior Giris Chorus entertained with selections ‘from competition numbers studied for the recent Eisteddfod at Edwardsville, in which they won first place. Mrs. John B. Hughes and Miss Pearl Averett poured at ‘the tea table during the social hour following the business meeting. Purchases Young Sire Clifford Denmon, Harveys Lake, has just purchased the young Guernsey sire, Shadow Brook Grand Duke, from Robert W. Stevens, Tunkhannock. The family had moved into the Ray Evelin, superintendent of the Armour Leather Company, was a hospital patient last week. He is home but confined to his bed. Ora Bean has been ill for several days. Mr. and Mrs. Gomer Thomas spent the weekend at, Williamsport visit- ing Mr. and Mrs. M. W. Whitaker. At least two hundred were served at the ham and lobster tail dinner held in the Fireman’s Hall last Fri- day. The dance held later in the Noxen Inn was well attended.
