Holy Week marks the climax of
the Life of Jesus. All during His
ministry He had prepared Himself
to meet the crucial test of whether
or not He was willing to die for His
message -of healing the world. He
steadfastly set His face toward Jer-
usalem and at the last went to
meet His enemies exemplifying com-
plete devotion to His cause. As we
come to Holy Week we know of
loyalty and devotion to worthy
causes. We have all known of tri-
umph over cruelty and suffering,
bitterness and defeat. For we dis-
cover in the Man of Galilee one
who leads us beyond the limita-
tions of our lot to the presence of
God where we discover power to
emulate Christ in “overcoming the
world.” May Holy Week enable us
to solve our problems and help
mankind move toward the King-
dom of God.
