rare spi PAGE TEN Silas Eveland Buried At Maple Grove, Aged 81 Silas Eveland, 81, was laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery Wed- nesday afternoon. Rev. Albert Hil- lard conducted services from the Bronson Funeral Home. He died Sunday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Thomas Swire, Loy- alville, with whom he had made his home for the past twelve years. His wife, the late Lavinia Eveland, died at Loyalville in 1950. A native of Benton, he spent most of his life in Kingston. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church in Luzerne. Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Thomas Swire; Mrs. Abraham Rittenhouse, Mountain Grove; Mrs. Edward Hayes, Bethlehem; seven- teen grandchildren, twenty - four great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; brothers: John, Still- water; George, Wilkes-Barre; sis- ters: Mrs. Lulu Esser and Mrs. Grace Lilbunguth, Saylorsburg. Al Morse, son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Post Sr., of Cliffside Avenue, Trucksville, has been pro- moted to Captain by the Air Force. Capt. Morse, his wife, the former Jane Post, and two children, live at Siawasse Circle, Mt. Clemens, Mich. Capt. Morse enlisted in the Air Force during April 1943 and ob- tained his pilot's wings and com- mission as Second Lieutenant at Moody Field, Valdosta, Georgia, on September 8, 1944. He was returned to inactive duty in October 1945 and attended Wilkes College until 1949. He held several civilian positions and was active in local amateur baseball cir- cles until he was recalled to active duty January 1, 1951. He attended Radar School at Keesler Air Force Base and then was assigned to Alaska where he spent two years accompanied by his wife and family. He is presently with 661st.
