Union President Jay Long was made president of Christian Endeavor Union upon the resignation of the former president, at a recent meeting held at Rey- burn. Jay has been vice-president for two years. The Sweet Valley C.E. Union con- sisting of the Christian Endeavor’s’ of the Sweet Valley Christian Church and of the Reyburn, Koons- ville, and Bloomingdale churches held a wiener roast at the Forest Hills Baptist Youth Camp, Sweet Valley. After the wiener roast, the group held a campfire service. John Mar- vin, a student at Bob Jones Univer- sity was the speaker. Rev. Patrick Loftus led the song service and Rev. Wm. Howie led the testi- mony meeting. Adam Karney Buried In Wardan Cemetery Adam (Knopka) Karney, 51, who died Thursday afternoon at 1:30 under a fall of rock at the Button- wood Colliery, was buried Monday morning at 10 in Wardan Ceme- tery. Rev. William Heapps con- ducted services at the Hugh Boyle Funeral Home, with arrangements by Alfred Bronson. Mr. Karney had made his home for seventeen years with the John Layaou family, moving with them from Fernbrook to Lehman Ave- nue, Dallas, a year ago. He was well liked in the neighborhood.
