Marylyn Rother enjoyed the
Easter weekend at the home of her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rother,
Sr. of Pioneer Avenue, Shavertown.
Marylyn is a nursing student at the
Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Hall and
children, Pittsfield, Mass., have re-
turned to their home after attending
the funeral of the latter’s mother,
Mrs. Wilbur Nichols, Trucksville.
Rev. and Mrs. Russell Edmondson,
Shaver Avenue, [Shavertown, had
the following guests over the week-
end: Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Edmond-
son and sons, Merrick, Long Island;
Mr. ‘and Mrs. Warren Edmondson,
Rockville Centre, Long Island; Mrs.
Millie Wickfield and son, Lord's
Valley, Pa.; Rev. and Mrs. Charles
Ashman and son, Blackwood
Lynbrook, Long Island.
Mrs. Allewen Mortenson, Maple
Street, Shavertown, is ill at her
home.
Robert Wakeling is ill at his home
on Terrace Avenue, Trucksville.
One of the Hadsell triplets, Bruce,
is home from the hospital and pro-
gressing nicely. The other two girls,
Brenda and Barbara, are still in the
Nesbitt Hospital.
Genevieve Prischack of Newark,
N. J., celebrated her birthday
recently at the home of her brother-
in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas Andrews, Terrace Drive,
Shavertown.
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Jones and
daughters, Marylou and Sheila Mae,
Bethlehem, spent the weekend visit-
ing relatives in Shavertown.
Wayne Hildebrand, Trucksville, is
ill at his home.
Mr. and Mrs. K. G. Laycock,
Terrace Drive, Shavertown, have re-
turned after spending the Easter
week with relatives and friends in
Zanesville, Ohio.
Patsy Shaver, Shaver Avenue,
Shavertown, has been ill at her
home.
Stephen Waldow of Mt. Airy Road,
Shavertown, has received word from
his mother ‘that she has arrived
safely in Germany.
Mrs. Mary Wagmen, Trucksville,
is ill at her home.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jenkins,
Terrace Drive, Shavertown, have the
former’s father, formerly of Plym-
outh, residing with them. Mr.
Jenkins was discharged from the
General Hospital, April 14, after
being a patient there for the past
three months, during which time he
submitted to several operations. He
is 82 years old.
Howard Woolbert and son,
Charles, Harris Hill Road, Trucks-
ville, visited Mr. and Mrs. David
Namey and children, Pittsburgh.
Mr. and Mrs. Namey formerly oper-
ated -Namey’s Gas Station and
Luncheonette, Main Highway and
Franklin Street, Shavertown.
Mrs. Joseph” Harris and son,
Terrace Drive, [Shavertown, are
home from the Nesbitt Hospital.
Mrs. Samuel Hines and children
of Philadelphia, formerly of Shaver-
town, were guests of several friends
in Shavertown and Trucksville dur-
ing the Easter holidays.
Joanne Hadsell, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Carlton Hadsell, has re-
turned to her home on Harris Hill
Road, Trucksville, after being a
patient in the Nesbitt Hospital.
Mrs. Susie Averett, Shaver Ave-
nue, Shavertown, is quite ill at her
home. ¢
Mrs. Wilbur Edmondson, and
sons, Ralph, Thomas and Douglas,
Merrick, Long Isiand, are spending
two weeks visiting her mother and
father, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Handley,
Beaumont
$95.12 was the amount collected
for the (Cancer Drive Tuesday night
by the following high school
students: Audrey Shupp, Mary
Micklo, Alyce Jane Patton, Dorothy
Traver, Nancy Traver, Jane Garey,
Phyllis Baines, Carol Millard, Lois
Hoyt, Marjorie Lamoreaux, Carl
Sickler, Robert. Condon, Nelson
Smith, Laurence Patton, Norma
Smith, and Gypsy Traver. The group
returned to the home of the Arch
Austins for some relaxation and
refreshments.
Mr. and Mrs. Ashley Traver and
family of Elmira, N. Y. were with
relatives here last week-end.
The Lend-A-Hand Club invites all
mothers, daughters, and guests to
its annual Mother-Daughter Tea,
Thursday, May 13, at 8 p. m., when
an interesting program, prizes and
refreshments are planned.
The Juniors and Seniors attended
the Keystone Jr. College Career
Forum at Factoryville, Friday, April
30.

President Warren Johnson will
preside at the regular monthly
meeting of the P.T. A. Monday, May
10, when the nominating committee
will give its report.
Mrs. George Crispell will submit
to surgery at the General Hospital
where Mrs. [Cecil Crispell is also a
patient.
Capt. Charles Moyer of the U. S.
Air Force enjoyed some trout fishing
with Herbert Goodwin last week-
end. .
Main Street, [Shavertown. Mrs.
Edmondson came to Shavertown to
witness the marriage of her brother,
Dick Handley ‘to Eleanor Dawnes
last Sunday.
Mrs. Harry Widdall, Shaver Ave-
nue, Shavertown, spent the weekend
in New York City.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rother, Jr.
and children of Washington, D. C.,
and Robert Rother of Long Island,
N. Y., a member of the U. S. Coast
Guard, were guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Joseph Rother, Sr. of Pioneer Ave-
nue, Shavertown.
Rev. Russell W. Edmondson,
pastor of Shavertown Bible Church,
was a recent guest speaker in the
Luzerne Methodist Church.
"Mrs. William Dorn and son of
Terrace Drive, Shavertown, have re-
turned from New Jersey after wisit-
ing with her daughter, Dorothy and
family.
Ruth Marie and Helene Waldow
of Mt. Airy Road, Shavertown, are
able to be out after being confined
to their home with the virus infec-
tion.
Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Laux, Pioneer
Avenue, Shavertown, celebrated
their 56th wedding anniversary on
April 27.
Mrs. Minnie Niper, Mrs. Isabelle
Mason and Mr. and Mrs. Leroy
Naylor and son of Luzerne were
recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. John-
son Miers, Terrace Drive, Shaver-
town.
John Hughes of Kingston, father
of Mrs. Thomas Jenkins; is a patient
in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Handley
visited the former's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Handley, Main Street,
Shavertown, before taking up resi-
dence in Hummelstown, Pa.
