Dinner Thursday
Awards Scheduled,
Sweetheart Named
Blue Ridge Chapter, Future
Farmers of America, will stage their
annual banquet Thursday evening
at 7:30, the cafeteria staff of Leh-
man-Jackson-Ross Township High
School preparing and serving.
High spot of the evening will be
presentation of Tess Rodriguez as
FFA Sweetheart by Ken Sutton.
Tess rates not only the customary
satin jacket emblazoned with the
FFA emblem, but a mother of pearl
necklace.
William McCarroll, president, will
serve as toastmaster, receiving re-
ports. Awards will go to members
winning distinction in area, County
and State farm projects last sum-
mer.
Walter Micklo and Martin Zbich,
log-sawing champions for four years,
will appear to defend their title.
George Major is chairman of the
dinner.
Winner of the annual seed con-
test will be recognized. Richard
Mekeel sold over $35 worth of
vegetable seeds, contending with

"Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hastings, Jr.
Goss Manor, have announced the
birth of a baby girl at St. Joseph's
Hospital, Lancaster, March 13. = Mrs.
Hastings is the former Lois Aier-
stock of Lancaster. Mr. Hastings
is son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hast-
ings, Sr., of Forty Fort.
25 percent of the membership par-
ticipating in the sale. Sales for the
FFA totalled $150, double the
amount realized in 1953.
Larry Drabick, instructor in Vo-
cational Agriculture, is faculty ad-
viser.
Augusta Court, No. 118, Order of
Amaranth, will hold a rummage
sale in the Lare Building March 25,
26, 27. Any one having rummage
