SERVICE —_ ROR TL x Ro, At School After Injury Kitty Lamoreaux, eleven year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lamoreaux, Kunkle, returned to school at Dallas-Franklin Tuesday morning after five weeks absence. She was discharged from Nesbitt Memorial Hospital a week ago Wed- nesday, after spending over three weeks there as a patient, result of a coasting accident in front of her house. Kitty has a stiff elbow to show for her experience, but her eye is all right and her bruises healed. She wants to thank everybody who sent her flowers and games and books and candy while she was laid up. Clifford Fink and Family Dallas-Franklin Students Collect $1555 In Drive Dallas - Franklin Township high school students collected $1555.50 in its recently completed magazine subscription drive, as against an estimated goal of $1200. Mrs. Mary Emmanuel’s seventh grade turned in the highest home-room score. Danny Richards collected $102, winning first prize for the second year in a row. He selected a table radio, having won a flash camera last year. Geraldine Miller, with $70.30, won a flash camera. Students who collected over $30 were: Barry Landmesser, Walter Williams, Mary Jo Kashuba, An- drew Stasko, Carl Ide. Shakalum, radio man third class, has been separated from naval service at the Naval Air Sta- tion at Pensacola, Florida. Shakalum, a reservist, was called to duty on the aircraft carrier Mon- terey on May 10, 1952. He attended Radio School in Norfolk, Va., where he was pro- moted to radio man third class. While in service he visited ports in Haiti and Cuba. He is a former resident of Shav- ertown and a graduate of West- moreland High School in the class of 1945.
