A pure bred registered heif-
er calf from the Hill Top Farm
herd at Sweet Valley has been
‘given to Back Mountain Mem-
orial Library Auction by Alfred
Bronson, Back Mountain Fun-
eral Director.
The Bronson Holsteins are
among the top herds in Luz-
erne County Dairy Herd Test-
ing Association and the calf
will have her registration papers
with her when she goes over
the Auction Block.
James Huston of Huston’s
Feed Service at Fernbrook has
offered to put the calf on a
six-week’s Purina Feeding pro-
gram as his contribution to
the Auction, so whoever buys
her will be assured that she
gets the proper start in life.

Maple Grove Has
New Minister
Circuit Has Been
Without Pastor
Rev. LaVerne Proctor, a prospec-
tive student at Drew Theological
‘Seminary, will assume his duties
at the Maple Grove (Charge on
Sunday, July 12, moving into the
parsonage two days in advance.
Maple Grove, Meeker, Loyalville,
and Mooretown have been without
a pastor since resignation of Pro-
fessor Everett Lord early in the
season,
Rev. Proctor will serve his charges
during the weekends after start
of school in the fall, Mrs. Proctor
will be constantly in residence in
the parsonage with the three chil-
dren: (Constance, 7, Linda, 5, and
Paul, 4.
The new minister is from Watts-
burg, He graduated from Corry
Schools, graduated from Houghton
(College, did graduate work at Gen-
eseo - State College, taught two
years in Wayne Township, and
served as supply pastor at Lake
Pleasant, [Service in the Army in-
cluded a station in Italy. ]
His wife is the former Rose
Bayles, Clymer, N. Y.
