WRITE BOX R By TOM MAKRAVITZ With all teams except Dallas Methodist and St. Therese’s play- ing their first games in the second half, Trucksville took over the lead in a tight race. The boys from the lower end now lead the Saints by a full game. The idle Hilltop five will have a chance to make up the game later on in the season The first game of the night ran true to predictions with Trucksville having things all its own way with the winless Dallas Methodist team. In this, as in previous contests, Fine and Sherrin led their mates to victory by a 67 to 35 score, with Fine dropping in 21 points and Sherrin 19. The combined efforts of these two outscored Steve Sed- ler’s entry. Templin with 10 points and Berdy with 9 supplied what little offense Dallas offered. A 57 to 37 setback by St. Therese’s is the only blemish on Trucksville’s record. Shavertown Downs Huntsville In the game of the night, Shav- ertown Methodist defeated Hunts- ville Christian by the margin of four points, 49 to 45. Stealing a page from Huntsville’s style of at- tack, the boys from Shavertown put on a great exhibition of team play that wore the “Grossmen” down and insured victory. A team victory it was, with four men hit- ting; Carey with 9, Hons, Oney and Morgan with 8. Huntsville could not come up with a defense against this dead-eye shooting. Urban with 15 and Gross with 14 could not make up the difference, but made a great game out of it. In the upset of the night, St. Paul’s Lutheran came up with its second victory over a good East Dallas team. With two of their ace scorers on the beam, St. Paul's edged the Dallas-Orange entry by 10 points. Failure to stop the fine outside shooting of Tex Wilson and the drive-in shots of Kitchen cost the Orange five a victory as was pre- dicted. = Wilson, dropping in 21 points from all angles, and Kitchen adding 12 more were hard men to stop. Brace with 18 and Fowler with 11 were the mainstays for the Dallas team. Starting this week, four games will be played in order to bring Wanted— BACK Mt.
