For folks in their early fifties, there are calendar pictures of children, dressed in garments Military Rites For Veteran George Beretsky Lost Both Legs Under Train Military rites were conducted for Paul Beretsky at Sacred Heart Cemetery Tuesday morning by Larksville Post 655, American Le- gion. Requiem Mass at Gate of Heaven was celebrated by Rev. Francis Kane, following services from the home of his parents in Plymouth. Mr. Beretsky, disabled World War II veteran, resident of Sus- quehanna Avenue, Dallas, died at Veterans Hospital Saturday morn- ing, having been admitted the pre- vious Tuesday. He had lost both his legs in 1944 when he fell in front of a subway train in New York on his way back to his ship, USS Champlain, after a Christmas leave. He was honor- ably discharged from the Navy after hospitalization of over a year. Born and educated in Larksville, he entered service in 1942.
