The bride wore powder blue silk
dress with mavy accessories.
Mrs, Hartman is a graduate of
Coughlin High School and is em-
ployed by S. Frieder wand [Sons
Company at Parsons. Seaman Hart-
man was also graduated from
Coughlin High School and is serving
with the U.S. Navy at Key West,
Fla. He will receive his honorable
discharge in fifteen months.
Mrs. Hartman will remain with
her parents until that time.

he was admitted on Thursday for
diagnosis and possible operation.

son Methodist Church met at the
parsonage on Thursday evening

voted to be paid. A motion was
made that our Advance [Special be
used for the building of a Meltho-
dist parsonage in Nome, Alaska.
Inspection followed on the mewly
remodeled kitchen and [powder

The fortieth wedding anniversary
of Mr. and Mrs. R.J.W. Templin, of
Woodlawn, Street was recently cele-
brated at a family surprise dinner
party held at the home of Mr, and
Mrs, Thomas Templin anid Mr. and
Mrs. Francis Dougherty of Shaver-
town. Ruby gifts were received by
guests of honor. A comic corsage was
presented to Mrs, Templin and a
gay red bow tie was presented to
Mr. Templin to be worn for the
occasion. Table centerpiece was a
beautifully decorated anniversary
cake.
Others present were Mr, and Mrs.
Lewis J. Reese, daughters, Peggy,
Cathy land Diane, land Fred Temp-
lin of Dallas; Mr, and Mrs. Fred-
erick J Eck, children, Jack, Mari-
lyn, Dorothy and Beverly, and
Bobby and Billy Templin of Sha-
vertown; and Mr. and Mrs. Charles

Mr. and Mrs, Templin have four
other children, Richard of Girard,
Ohio; William of Brookings, South

grandparents of nineteen children.

MRS. ELSIE WINTER, 90,
HAS FIRST EXPERIENCE
AS HOSPITAL PATIENT
Plucky and curious as any
schoo] girl, Mrs. Elsie Winter,
aged ninety, was rolled into
the operating room at Wyoming
Valley Hospital on Tuesday and
submitted to the first bit of
surgery in her life. Under local
anaesthetic, she chatted cheer-
fully during the hour and a half
operation and took an active in-
terest in all that went on. She
expects to return to the home
of her son and daughter-in-
law, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Winter,
the end of the week.
Mrs. Winter, wife of the late
Irwin H. Winter, teacher of
mathematics at Coughlin High
School for many years, has
been making her home with her
son and daughter-in-law since
her husband’s death six years
ago.
She was rushed to the hos-
pital in an ambulance Saturday
at midnight,

family, former Harveys [Lake resi-
