PAGE SIX Mrs. Hightower Buried Saturday Ardent Church Member Laid To Rest Mrs. Cecelia Hightower, 76, was buried in the family plot in Forest Hill Cemetery, Scranton Saturday morning, following services conduc- ted by Rev. William Williams at the Snowden [Funeral Home. Mrs. Hightower, West Center Street, Shavertown, had been failing in health for some time, but be- came acutely ill only a short time ago. [She died Thursday afternoon, 1:05, at Wilkes-Barre General Hos- pital. She and her husband Benjamin were pioneers in founding of the small Episcopal mission which event- ually led to formation of the Prince of Peace parish. Before marriage to Mr, Hightower, Mrs. Hightower had sung in the choir of Church of the Good (Shepherd, Scranton. In the Prince of Peace she was active in. the women's organizations. "A native of Scranton, Mrs. High- tower was the daughter of the late John and Maria Parsons. She had . made her home in !Shavertown for the past twenty-seven years. Her husband, who survives, is eighty- seven, There are no children, but sev- eral nieces and nephews survive. Pallbearers were I. R. Two Cars Total Wreck At Lake Nobody Injured In Either Crash Harveys Lake had two accidents last week, neither of them involving residents or Back Mountain people. Both happened late at might, both aparently the result of going too fast over unfamiliar territory. ‘A car crossing the Lehigh Valley tracks at the sharp S curve near the picnic grounds turned over three times Thursday night at 12. The family of three, from New Jersey, were uninjured. The car was a total wreck. Three boys from Forty Fort and Kingston failed to make the U turn at Herman Kern's place Friday night at 1 AM. Their car plunged down the embankment and was held from being completely submerged by a clump of willows. The boys were not injured, but the car was wrecked, according to Chief Edgar Hughes, who answered both calls.
