ville, entertained a few friends at
their home Sunday afternoon hon-
oring General and Mrs. Norman
Smith of East Woodstock, Conn.
Bruce R. Zeiser, Washington
D. C., spent the weekend with his
grandmother Mrs. H. H. Zeiser,
Huntsville Road, enroute to Chi-
cago. Bruce is working with the
“Eisenhauer for President” youth
groups.
Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Scott, Mt.
Greenwood Road, celebrated their
thirty-seventh wedding anniversary
on Sunday.
[Sandy [Scureman Risley spent the
weekend as guest of Mr. and Mrs.
Murry Scureman, Maple Avenue,
Kingston. An exciting reunion was
enjoyed by all. Murry Jr. has re-
covered sufficiently from his acci-
dent so that he is able to walk on
the injured foot.
Mrs. V. W. Johnson, mother of
Mrs. Harry Ohlman, is a patient at
Homeopathic Hospital where she is
in a critical condition.
Miss Mary Reedy and Elizabeth
Setse who have been guests of the
former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs.
John Reedy of Center Hill Road re-
ported to Bainbridge, Md., Monday
to serve with the Waves for the
summer. They expect to teach.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Risley,
Huntsville Road, will spend the
weekend at the shore. i
Dr. and Mrs. M. H. Todd of Coral
Gables, Fla., spent the weekend as
guests of Mr. and Mrs. T. M. B.
Hicks, Pioneer Avenue. The Hicks
spent the weekend at their home
here.
Floyd Wells, Trucksville, is a
patient at General Hospital.
Karl Stock, Sheldon Jones and
Fred Boote of Trucksville are
patients at Nesbitt Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Metzger,
Trucksville, have announced the
birth of a son at Nesbitt Hospital.

Wyoming Seminary alumni ban-
quet last Saturday were Dr. and
Mrs. Sherman Schooley and Charles
of Shavertown, Mrs.
Alva Eggleston, Verngn, and Agnes
Gregson of Shrine View.
Mr. and Mrs. John Joseph and
son, Robert David, are guests of
Mr. and Mrs. David Joseph, Norton
Avenue, They arrived last Thurs-
day after John was graduated from
the Chicago College of Chiropody
and Pedic Surgery. He expects to
practice in Dallas.
Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Eppihimer of
Honey Brook, Pa., spent Sunday as
guests of Mr. and Mrs. John
Hughes, Lehman Avenue. The
Hughes and Eppihimers were
neighbors some years ago at Honey
Brook.
Charlotte Gregory, Trucksville,
was among the graduates from
Wilkes College last Monday might.
Louise Kann of Trucksville has
been awarded a scholarship to St.
Louis School of Music.
Bill Hart, Machell Avenue, was
graduated from Wilkes College last
Monday night. He majored in
Chemistry.
Jack Hall, Shavertown, fis spend-
ing two weeks at (Camp Pickett, Va.
with the Army Reserves.
Mrs. Granville Sowden is able to
be out again after ia serious illness.
Frederick Anderson, Pioneer Ave-
nue, who has been: so ill is able to be
back at work part time.
Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Lynch of
Harrisburg and Miss Dorns Lynch
of New York City will spend the
weekend with Mrs. M. A. Wilcox.
Mrs. Lynch wil remain for the
week and help her mother pack:
Next weekend Mrs. Wilcox will
‘move to Harrisburg with the
Lynches.
Richard Culp, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Stanley Culp of Huntsville
has returned from Germany and
received his honorable discharge.
He and his family are living with
his parents temporarily. He was a
sergeant.
Richard Jenkins, Wharton, N. J.
has returned to his home after
spending several days with his
mother, Mrs. Bertha Jenkins at
Huntsville.
Capt- Harold Rood returned to
his duties at Radford, Va., yester-
day after spending ten days with
his wife and parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Ralph Rood, Lehman Avenue.
Mr. and Mrs. Raymon [Hedden
and son, Carl, will leave from Har-
risburg ‘Sunday for a tour of the
Northwest.
Mrs. Celia Rhodes Mulligan and
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Rhodes of
Huntsville have returned from St.
Louis where they attended. the en-
gagement dinner dance of Mrs.

To Marry Richard Post
Tomorrow at 2 p.m. Mary Lou
Mahaffey, daughter of Mrs. Lenore
Mahaffey and the late Boyd Mahaf-
fey of Lathrop [Street, Kingston, will
marry Richard Post, son of Mr. and
Mrs. B. 'C. Post of Brook Street,
Trucksville. Rev. Ralph IA, Weather-
ley will perform the double ring
ceremony in Grace Episcopal
(Church, Kingston.
Matron of honor will be Mrs. Theo-
dore Claus of Forty Fort. sister of
the bride. Mrs. Howard Dinstel,
Philadelphia, Mrs. Prentice Lacy,
Shavertown, Mrs, Walter [Phillips
of Trucksville, sister of the bride-
groom, and Miss Marian Holmes,
Lansfond, will be bridesmaids.
Best man will be Walter Phillips,
brother-in-law of the bridegroom.
Howard Dinstel, Prentice Lacy,
James (Clark of Wellsboro and War-
ren Davis of [Lake Ariel will act as
ushers.
Following the ceremony, a recep-
tion will be held at the Country

Miss Mahaffey is a graduate of
Kingston High [School and [Penn
State College. IShe has been a kin-
dergarten teacher at Kingston. Mr.
Post wias graduated from Kingston
High [School and Penn [State Col-
lege. He has finished his second
year in the Veterinarian School at
University of Pennsylvania.
The couple will live in Philadel-
phia,
is a patiemt at the Veterans Hospital
where he will submit to an opera-
tion. He would appreciate cards
amid visits from his friends.
Terry Evams, Church (Street, cele-
brated his thirteenth birthday an-
miversary yestenday.
Nangpy Heffernan, Lehman, sailed
two weeks ago for England. She
and several college friends expect
to spend the summer ‘touring Eur-
ope.
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Clark, Bald-
win Street, spent the weekend in
Montreal where they bid [bon voyage
to their daughter, Barbara, who left
on a four of Europe. While over
there she expects to visit her
brother, Pete, in Germany,
Marie = Thevenon, [Center Hill
Road, thas returned from Nesbitt
Hospital where she underwent an
operation.
Alva Eggleston, Vernon, is on
a fishing trip in Canada. Mrs.
Eggleston and the children are
staying with the Himmlers during
his absence. :
Miriam Lathrop and Mrs. Grace
Fleming, Main Street, spent last
week in Kentucky and the Great
Smokies.
Mrs. C. W. Bertels, Trucksville,
entertained at a Canastra Club
luncheon on Tuesday. The guests
were Mrs. Edmund Dana and Mrs.
Stanley Freeman, Harvey's Lake,
Mrs. John Ruggles, Mrs. Harry
Ruggles, and Mrs. Robert Rine-

ver attended graduation exercises at
South Eastern University Washing-
ton, D. C., where [Stephen Jr. was
a member of the graduating class.

Hanna attended the Masonic (Ses-
quecenitennial ceremonies in Blooms-
burg. In the evening Mr. and Mrs.

Marian Finney of Wilmington,
Del., speint the weekend visiting her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. D. Finney
of Trucksville.
Mrs. Charles Palmer has returned
to her home in Trucksville after
spending three ‘weeks with her
daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. S. D. Finney of Lancaster.

Fred Dodson, Kunkle, is in ‘Canlada
on a fishing trip.

the Walnut Hill School in Natick,
Mass. ‘She has returned to spend the
summer with her parents.
Mrs. Lewis Evans Jr. and daugh-
ter, Dianne have returned to Ken-
tuckly after spending six weeks with
the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Newton Ness of Shavertown.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard (Appleton,
Shavertown, are on a motor trip
to the Southwest. They will visit
their son, Kenneth in Arkansas and
Richiand in Texas.

Mrs. Ethel J. Smith, Main Road,
Shavertown, became the bride of
Walter Kozemchak, son of Mrs. Rose
Kozemchak, Overbrook Road, June
7 at 2 p.m. Rev. John O. Lindquist
performed the double ring ceremony
in Trinity Lutheran Church, N, Main
Street, Wilkes-Barre, before an al-
tar banked with white carnations
and gladioli.
Ethel Mae [Smith was her sister's
maid of honor and Daniel Kozem-
chak, brother of the bridegroom,
was best man. Robert Dolbear,
brother-in-law of the bridegroom
and [Sheldon MacAvoy were ushers.
Mrs. Delber; Strome was organist.
The bride was attired in an ankle
length gown of white mylon and
chantilly lace fashioned with tight
bodice, full skirt and long tight
sleeves, pointed at the wrist. Her
cathedral length veil fell from a cap
trimmed with clusters of seed pearls
and she carried a Colonial bouquet
of white cannations and baby’s
breath.
Miss [Smith selected pink net
gown, styled with full ankle length
skirt and chantilly lace cape. She
wore a head band of heavy metting
and carried a (Colonial bouquet of
pink carnations and mixed summer
itlowers. ’
Mrs. (Smith, mother of the bride,
chose tan with brown accessories
and shoulder bouquet of yellow
roses and Mrs. Kozemchak, mother
of the bridegroom, navy dress with.
matching laccessories and red roses.
Following the ceremony, a recep-
tion was held at the home of the
bride and tthe couple left for a trip
to the Poconos.
The bride is a graduate of King-
ston Township High [School and is
employed at fhe Hub [Clothing (Store,
Wilkes-Barre, Mr. Kozemchak was
graduated from Dallas Township
High School and is employed as
shipper at the (CoallO-Matic (Com-
pany, Trucksville.
-The couple resides in the Garey
apartment, W. Main Street, Trucks-
ville.
Out of town guests included Mrs.
Grace IStone, Rochester, New York,
aunt of the bride, Mr. and Mrs.
Daniel Kozemchak, Philadelphia,
Michael Kozemchak, Bridgeport,
Conn., and (Clarence Smith, Roches-

Hostess At Bridge
Nancy Brader, Machell (Avenue,
entertained a few friends at a bridge
party Tuesday evening in honor of
her guest, [Shirley Dahl, Livingston,
New Jersey. The guests were Peggy
Conlon, Wilkes-Barre, Mrs. John C.
Ferenbach, Jr., Miriam Davis, and
Ann Cook, Kingston, and Kathleen,
Ferenbach, Trucksville.
Steinhauer Improved
The condition of Charles W.
Steinhauer, Commissioner of Back
Mountain Little League, is much
improved, according to his physi-
cian, Dr. C. G. Perkins.
Mr. Steinhauer was injured
when he was thrown from his car
to the pavement on June 9. He is
still in the Nesbitt Memorial
Hospital.

Hostess To Card Club
Mrs. James Oliver, Lake Street,
entertained members of her bridge
club at her home last week. Present
were: Mrs. Charles Mahler Jr., Mrs.
Frank Kovalitz, Mrs. Edward Kel-

Alice Ruth Davenport
Mr. and Mrs. R. Newton Daven-
port, .Kunkletown, announce the
birth of an eight pound, four ounce
baby girl, Alice Ruth at Nesbitt
Hospital June 13. The Davenports
have a son, Bobby, aged six. Mrs.
Davenport is the former Ruth How-
ell, daughter of Mrs. Howell and the
late Dr. Gideon Howell of Trucks-
ville.
Mathew Fuller Schooley
Mr. and Mrs. Harry B. Schooley
announce the birth of a seven
pound, fourteen ‘ounce baby boy,
Mathew Fuller, at General Hospital
Sunday, June 15. Mrs. Schooley is
the former Ruth Blackman of West
Dallas. The Schooleys have two
other boys, John Blackman aged
three and a half and Harry B. the
3rd, aged seven. :

day night when plans were made
for the covered dish supper.and re-
ception for new members to be

reading to be held August 13. Mrs.
