(International Soundphoto) SHAVERTOWN FIREMEN COLLECT $1216.75 IN MEMBERSHIP DRIVE Shavertown [Fire Company re-€— ported a total of $1216.75 from its annual membership drive. The re- port was made at its monthly meet- ing Monday at Shavertown Fire House. About half the money was spent on new equipment, boots, helmets, firecoats, Mine Safety Appliance gas mask, and a portable pump. Demon- stration of the pump, which will pump water a distance of 2500 feet anid deliver 250 gallons of water per minute, was given before the meet- ing. The mask will enable a fireman to enter a smokefilled building and locate the origin of the fire so that there will be a minimum of water damage. The outing will be held at Bar- berry Heights near Dalton on June 29. To make the occasion family style, the affair will take the form of a picnic, and each sponsor will bring a basket lunch for the child whom she sponsors, and any mem- bers of her family whom she may bring as guests. The program ‘outlined, includes lunch, games and races for each age group, group singing, presentation of prizes, and supper.
