Mrs. Harry Allen entertained her
Sunday ‘School class at her home
last week. The following officers

Sgt. John Balko of California is
spending two weeks with his sister

for Bremerhaven, Germany at the
end of his leave.

Gets 75 Pints
Commonwealth
Sends Donors
Bloodmobile Day at Dallas Bor-
ough school netted the Red (Cross
Blood Bank seventy-five pints of
blood Wednesday 1-7.
Commonwealth Telephone Com-
pany sent fifteen donors, (Coalomatic
a number, Bloomsburg Mill em-
ployees were transported in relays
by the motor corps, and a few
donors appeared from Natona, in
spite of a recent visit of the Blood-
mobile to the mill.
Twenty local donors, because of
recent illness or physical disability
cancelled their appointments.
According to Mrs. Fred Keifer,
chairman, spring is not the best
time for donation, with everybedy
feeling ‘the effects of a long hard
winter. It was felt by some regular
donors that this (date followed too
closely after the one in January.
Ferry Is On Way Home
From Service In Italy
(Cpl. Dennis Ferry, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Frank J. Ferry; Dallas, will be
home from Italy next week. He is on
the high seas mow, coming from
Leghorn, where he has been serving
with the 640th Engineers, Supply
and Maintenance Division.
Dennis is rounding out his fourth
year in the service. He had a leave
last Summer, rejoining his outfit in
September.

Drive, as announced by Mrs. Harry
Ohlman, area Chairman. is $2,000.
eFunds will ‘be solicited by mail in-
stead of personal canvass. The mail-
ing campaign is well under way.
Mrs. William Thomas and Mrs.
Arthur Culver will serve as com-
munity chairmen.
Mrs. Donald Davis and Mrs. David
Hall are in charge of distribution
and collection of coin containers,
which will be displayed prominently
in local business and public build-
ings.
Volunteers handling mailing are

Butler, Bonnie Davis, Daniel Robin-
hold, L. L. Richardson, A. G. Ruther-
ford, David Jenkins, [Clyde Cooper,
and ‘Sheldon Evans.
