Octogenarian
Dies Suddenly
Mrs. Loveland, 84
Buried Wednesday
Mrs. Elizabeth Loveland, Orchard
Knob Farm, dropped dead of a
heart attack at her home Sunday
night. She was buried in’ Maple
Grove Cemetery following services
at Bronson Funeral Home conducted
by Rev. Ira Button.
Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Loveland had
lived on the former Frederick
Johnson farm for eighteen years,
having moved from the Weiss
place. They had been married for
thirty years, seven years after the
death of Mrs. Loveland’s first hus-
band, Philip Cease.
Mrs. Loveland, the former Eliza-
beth Heize, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Philip Heize, Ruggles, took
over the motherless home of Philip
Cease at eighteen, first as home-
maker and then as mother to the
four small children, six, eight, ten
and twelve years old.
In love with all living things,
Mrs. Loveland has been vitally in-
terested in gardening and small
livestock all her life. Up until a

Lehman Hi-Y To See
Film On Wrestling
With formation of the sixth Hi-Y
and Tri-Hi-Y club through the Back
Mountain Branch Town and Coun-
try YMCA at Lehman-Jackson High
School, it may not be too long be-
fore “Y” officials can boast of 100%
coverage in the four Back Mountain
schools.
The newly formed Hi-Y Club at
Lehman is merrily on its way. Re-
cently elected officers are: William
Rinker, president; Warren Major,
vice president; Joel Root, secretary,
and Lynn Ashworth, treasurer. Wil-
liam Snyder, a member of Lehman-
Jackson faculty is Adult Counselor,
This group meets every other Fri-
short time ago she has had a gar-
den every year and canned quan-
tities of fruits and vegetables.
Her patch-work quilts have been
distributed widely among her rela-
tives. Several remain in her home,
wrapped in blue paper to preserve
their freshness.
She was an avid reader.
Mrs. Loveland is survived by her
husband, Isaac; three stepchildren,
Mrs. Dinah Pollock, Lake Silk-
worth; Wilson Cease, Trucksville;
and William Wellington, of Hamil-
ton; 11 step-grandchildren and sev-
eral nieces and nephews.

been secured for today’s meeting
and a local wrestling authority is
being invited for the March 7 meet-
ing. Narcotics, baseball, vocations
and boy and girl relations are on
the agenda for future programs.
Levi Brown Funeral
Funenal services were held from
Nulton Funeral Home [Saturday at
2 p.m. for Levi Brown, retired North
Mooreland farmer. Rev. E. A, Ben-
son officiated with burial in ‘the
Marsh Cemetery, Center Moreland.
Mr. Brown, 84 son of the late
George and Emily Coon Brown, spent
his entire life at North Moreland. He
died on Wednesday leaving ‘the fol-
lowing survivors: his ‘wife, the for-
mer Annie Wright, six sons, Harry
of Vernon, Stanley of Eaton Town-
ship Roland of Rochester, N. Y.,
Mark at home, Clark of Danville,
N. Y., and Elmer of Luzerne; three
daughters, Mrs. Leonard Shaefer of
Eatonyille, Mrs. Emily Smith of
Vernon and Mrs. Marvin Pescotti of
Plymouth; also two sisters, Mrs.
Electa Bonner of Eatonville and Mrs.
Lillian Harding of Tunkhannock;
nineteen grandchildren and eighteen
great grandchildren.
Benjamin Jones Lies
At Mount Evergreen
Funeral services for Benjamin H.
Jones, Mount Airy Terrace, Shaver-
town, were conducted Tuesday after-
noon by Rev. Robert D. Yost, from a

funeral home in Edwardsville. Burial
was in Mt. Evergreen (Cemetery.
Mr. Jones, 64, died after a long
illness in General Hospital late
Saturday night,
Born in Edwardsville, son of Mr.
and: Mrs. William S. Jones, he had
lived in Shavertown for twenty-three
years.
Until fifteen years ago when he
lost his leg in a traffic accident, Mr.
Jones was employed by the King-
ston Coal Company as a shaft man.
Four ‘children survive: Benjamin,
Jr, Battle [Creek, Michigan; Alvin W.
US Army in Japan; Mrs. Ed Mooney,
Wilkes-Barre; and Mrs. Robert Oley,
at home; brothers and sisters are
Thomas, Shavertown; Mrs. William
Smith, and Stanley Edwardsville;
Mrs. ‘A. J, Moreck, Shavertown.
There are three grandchildren.
