Monday night.
Mrs. Mary Coniglio, Trucksville,
was recently honored at a surprise
birthday party at her home on Da-
vis Street.
Mrs. S. R. Schooley who has been
ill at her home at Shavertown for
the past several weeks is able to be
up and feeling much better.
Mr. and Mrs. Herman Thomas,
West Dallas, entertained a number
of friends before the Woman's Club
dance Saturday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Harris, Spring
street, Shavertown, entertained a
few friends at their home Saturday
night prior to the Woman's Club
dance,
Mrs. Donald LaBar, Main road,
Fernbrook, has been called to South
Carolina by the illness of her father.
Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Jenkins,
Davis street, Trucksville, enter-
tained a number of people at their
home before the Woman's Club
dance Saturday night.
Sheldon Jones, Trucksville, is a
patient at Robert Packer Hospital.
Eugene Piatt, Carverton road,
Trucksville, is seriously ill at his
home.
Dr. and Mrs. Franklin Robinson,
Mt. Greenwood road, entertained
some friends at their home prior to
the Woman's Club dance Saturday
night.
Marian Marth, Trucksville, sub-
mitted to an operation at Nesbitt
Hospital recently.
Earl Henwood has returned to his
home in Trucksville after being a
patient at Robert Packer Hospital.
He expects to return there later for
an operation.
Linda and Shirley Brown has re-
turned to their home in Trucksville
after being patients at Nesbitt Hos-
pital with a virus infection.
Pearl Coolbaugh has been ill at
her home in Trucksville.
Mrs. Harry Harris who has been
a patient at Nesbitt Hospital has re-
turned to the home of her son and
daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Levi
Harris of Kingston.
Fred Kiefer, New York City, spent
a week recently with his family at
Shrineview.
Mr, and Mrs. Norwood Brader,
Machell avenue, entertained a num-
ber of friends before the Wonjers
Club dance Saturday night.
John Estus, Huntsville road, is a
hospital patient suffering with an
infected tooth.
Mrs. Helen Hart who was a pa-
tient at Nesbitt Hospital where she
submitted to tests has returned to
her home on Machell avenue.
Mrs. Charles W. Lee, Lee Acres,
entertained a number of friends at
their home Saturday night before
the Woman's Club dance.
Mrs. J. Stanley Rinehimer has re-
turned to her home on Lehman ave-
nue after spending sometime with
her sister, Mrs. Lawrence Bevan at

Trucksville, recently submitted to
an appendectomy at Mercy Hospital.
Don Hinkle, Lincoln drive, Shav-
ertown, celebrated his sixteenth
birthday anniversary yesterday.

‘Middleton of Idetown spent Sunday
in’ Berwick wisiting relatives.
Janet Lamb, member of the Sen-
jor Class at Wyoming Seminary,
spent several days last week at

Barre, spent yesterday with her
daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Theodore Hinkle of Lincoln
drive, Shavertown. She will spend
the weekend with another daughter
and son-in-law, Mr, and Mrs. Harry
Lee Smith of Mill street.
Hazle Myra Berti will celebrate
her birthday anniversary on
Wednesday.
Carolyn Dungey, Lake road, re-
turned to school Monday after an
illness of two weeks.
Mrs. Henrietta Miller has been ill
at her home in Shavertown with
influenza.
Arthur Nuss, member of the
sophomore class at Stroudsburg
State Teachers’ College, spent the
weekend with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Charles Nuss of Lehman.
Priscilla Abbott, member of the
Senior Class of Bloomsburg State
Teachers’ College; spent last week-
end with her parents, Rev. and Mrs,
Frank Abbott of Lehman, She came
home to see her grandfather, H. B.
Buell of Eastford, Conn., who was
the Abbotts’ guest.

State College last Wednesday after
spending the mid-year vacation

Dallas Post and the lolly pop re-
freshments Monday afternoon. Pres-
ent were Flora Sue Anderson, Lois

Marie Faulls, Sandra Laidler, Char-
lene Mannear, Karen Monko, Doris
Fay Whipp, Pamela Yeager and Pa-
tricia Rood.

To Marry R. L. Culver
Miss Joan Edith Cragle daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Loren Cragle of
Sweet Valley, will become the bride
of Seaman Richard L. Culver, son

Shickshinny in April.
Miss Cragle is a graduate of Toh.
man High School, class of 1951, and
s employed by Harvic Manufactur-
ng Company at Sweet Valley. Sea-
nan Culver was graduated from
Juntington Mills High School, class
>f 1947 and previous to entering
the service was employed by Hunt-
‘ngton Dairy. He is stationed in
Washington, D. C.
Corp. Robert Moore, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Alfred Moore of East Dal-
las left yesterday for Washington
State from where he expects to em-
bark for overseas. His recent bride,
the former Lorrain Casterline, will
remain with her father, Elmer Cas-
terline, until his return.
Bob Earl, Ferman Wesley and
Dick Mitchell of East Dallas are
visiting the Dymond Brothers in
Florida. The Dymonds operate a
cucumber farm at Homestead, Fla.
in the winter and a trucking farm
at East Dallas in the summer.

folk, Va., with the U.S. Navy also

Coolbaugh, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs, Laing Coolbaugh of Trucksville
R. D., will become the bride of Don-
ald Britt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed-
win Britt of Sweet Valley. Rev.
Robert. Webster will perform the
double ring ceremony in Trucks-
ville Methodist Church.
The bride will be given in mar-
riage by her father.
Miss Coolbaugh is a graduate of
Lehman High School and is em-
ployed by Luzerne County Gas and
Electric in Kingston. Mr, Britt was
also graduated from Lehman High
School. He works at Natona Mill.
Following the ceremony, a recep-
tion will be held in the chitreh
parlors.
The couple expect to build a
home near the Coolbaughs at
Trucksville.

Mrs. Earl Johnson, Beaumont,
was guest of honor at a birthday
party at the home of Carolyn Sco-
vell Wednesday evening. Present
were Mrs. Arch Austin, Mrs, Ed
MacDougal, Mrs. Ray Denmon, the
guest of honor and the hostess.

Ninth Birthday Party
Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Conden,
Harveys Lake, entertained at a
party Saturday afternoon honor-
ing their son, Charles, who cele-
brated his ninth birthday anniver-
sary. Games were played and
lunch served.

He's In The Navy Now
Ted Hinkle, Shavertown, spent
Monday in Philadelphia taking his
physical examination for the U. IS,
Navy. He passed and will report to
Bainbridge, Md. for duty March 24.
For the past two years he has been
in the Naval Reserves.

the wedding of Miss Claire Marie
Baur, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
John M. Baur of Shaver avenue,
Shavertown, and Adrian E, De-
Marco, son of Mr, and Mrs. Marion
DeMarco of Rochester, N. Y.
Father J. J. O'Leary will perform
the ceremony in St. Therese’s Ro-
man Catholic Church Saturday, Feb-
ruary 23 at eleven o'clock in the
morning.
The bride will be. given in mar-
riage by her father. Attendants will
be Madeline Baur, sister of the
bride, and John Baur, brother of
the bride.
Following the ceremony, a recep-
tion will be held at the Shavertown
Fire Hall.
Miss Baur is a graduate of Kings-
ton Township High School. She has
been employed at the Forty Fort
Dairy Store. Mr. DeMarco is em-
ployed at Goodleigh Farms, where
the couple will live.
Mrs. Delphine Poust Is
Ninety-eight Years Old
Mrs. Delphine Poust, the former
Delphine Major of Lehman, cele-
brated her ninety-eighth birthday
anniversary on Sunday at her home
on Myers street, Forty Fort.
Born at Hayfield farm, she is
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Major. She married Dr, Jus-
tus Sutliff of Nanticoke by whom
she had one daughter, Myrtle, now
deceased. She later married Mr.
Poust, now also dead.
