The only high school team to
have ever beaten Beaumont on it's
home floor is Falls-Overfield, who
will play here Friday, December 21.
With the weatherman’s coopera-
tion most school students will en-
joy their skates, sleds, and skiis
during their Christmas vacation
which starts Friday, December 21,
and ends Wednesday, January 2
at nine,
The Annual Christmas dinner
served by the school cafeteria in-
cluded turkey, dressing, cranberry
sauce, carrots and peas, celery
stick, mashed potatoes with giblet
gravy, rolls, and fruit jello which
were enjoyed by the entire student
body and faculty.
Christmas programs and parties:
in all classrooms will climax the
day’s activities Friday.
Mrs. John Smith and daughter
Deborah, have returned to Phila-
delphia.
Perhaps Mrs. Hicks could get
“doe-nations” for those mince meat
pies from the following who are
cooking venison: Clayton Taylor,
Glen Clark, Robert Hoyt, Nile
Clark, Alfred Dymond, Melvin Cris-
pell, Carlton Shupp, Rodney Tra-
ver, Billy Corby, Seldon Traver, and

She is making a good recovery.

at a wild turkey dinner at Mrs.
Smith's home. Her nephew, Sam
Bronson, shot the turkey. Mr. and
Mrs. Arthur Cragle, Oakdale, were
guests,
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Jones and
Mrs. Lillie Case, Edwardsville, vi-
sited Mr. and Mrs. Alva Case on
Sunday.

Donald McHenry, on Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Atwood both

Thomas Jones is home again I
after being hospitalized for an in-
jured eye, sustained when a piece
of rock flew into it. He is still re-
ceiving treatment.

Christmas Party
The Serving and Waiting Class
of Idetown Methodist Church held
its party at the Churchhouse Thurs-
day evening when gifts were ex-
changed. Christmas stockings were
filled for the Methodist Hospital.

Requiem Mass Celebrated
For William Toby, 86
William Toby, 86, resident of the
Back’ Mountain since April when he =
moved from Wilkes-Barre to Jack-
son Road, Chase, to make his
home with his nephew, Jacob Ga-
bel! died Sunday might from com-
plications of old age.
A member of St. Nicholas’
Church, Mr, Toby was buried in the =
parish cemetery, Shavertown, after
a requiem mass’ at St. Nicholas,
celebrated by Rev. C. A. Staub.
Pallbearers were Thomas Beline,
Donald Gabel, Francis Proeller, and
Harold Gabel. %
He is survived by two sisters,
Mrs. Margaret Roberts; Trucks-
of Christian Charity, Wilmette, IIl.°
There are several nieces. and ne-
‘phews.” Sam oe
