bride of Frederick Shouldice 2nd,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Shoul-
dice of Jackson Township Saturday
September 15. Rev. Herbert W.
Sugden performed the ceremony in
Westminster Presbyterian Church,
Hanover street, Wilkes-Barre,
The bride, given in marriage by
her father wore floor length white
satin gown styled with off the
shoulder neckline, tight bodice and
full skirt, and long tight sleeves
pointed at wrists. Chantilly lace
was effectively used in the peek-a-
boo skirt. Her full length veil of
illusion fell from half hat of satin
and she carried a shower bouquet
of white roses and pompons.
Miss June Ann Duffy of Ashley
acted as maid of honor. She se-
lected full length gown of ice blue
satin made with tight bodice, full
skirt and short jacket. She wore
matching hat and mitts and car-
ried a bouquet of mixed flowers.
Bridesmaids were Miss Charlotte
Wilcox, former Harveys Lake resi-
dent, Mrs. James Perkins of Hun-
lock Creek and Mrs. Earl Hartman
of Trucksville, sisters of the bride-
groom. All wore floor length yel-
low taffeta gowns made with net
yokes, tight bodices and full skirts.
Their flowers were cascade bou-
quets of red and white roses.
Flower girls were Colleen Per-
kins, niece of the bridegroom, and

Judy Heckman and Marian Swart-
wood, cousins of the bride. They
wore yellow and blue frocks, rib-
bons in their hair and carried
baskets of rose petals.
Mrs. Malta chose blue street
length dress with pink accessories
and Mrs. Shouldice, mother of the
bridegroom gray, with blue acces-
sories. Both wore shoulder bou-
quets of pink roses.
Best man was Walter Shouldice,
brother of the bridegroom, and
ushers, Ziba Smith of ‘Jackson,
cousin of the bridegroom, Jack Grif-
fith of Askam, cousin of the bride,
and Earl Hartman, brother-in-law
of the bridegroom. Billy Heckman,
cousin of the bride was ring bearer.
Following the ceremony, a re-
ception for about two hundred
guests was held at the home of
the bride and the couple left for
Washington, D, C. and Maryland.
Miss Malta attended Lake Town-

Country Couples Club
Installs New Officers
Country Couples Club held a
covered dish supper at the Dallas
‘Methodist Church last Thursday
night, October 11, in conjunction
with installation ceremonies for the
new officers.
Plans were announced for a Hal-
lowe’en party on Saturday, Novem-
ber 3 in the church basement. It
was also announced that the speak-
er at the business meeting this
Sunday, will be Attorney William
J. Davis, who will speak on “Wills.”
Rev. Frederick Reinfurt installed
the following officers: Willard Sey-
mour, president; Fay Hopkins, vice
president; Mrs. Ruth Edwards, sec-
retary; Mrs. Mary Reese, treasurer.
Fay Hopkins served as toast-
master and Robert Brown as song
leader. Following the dinner, the
group enjoyed square and round
dancing through the courtesy of
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Reese Sr.

General chairman was John Earl.
Fredric W. Anderson, club secre-
tary, acted as toastmaster. Group
singing was led by Matthew Hop-
kins, ‘who also gave several vocal
solos, accompanied .by. Mrs. Mary
H. Schultz. Invocation was given
by John Dana. .
Humorous songs were given by
Herman Coons, followed by a piano
duet by Mr. and Mrs. Coons.
Several moments of silence were
observed in memory of the late
Sam Davis.
Dana Sickler, president, praised
club members for their cooperation
and fellowship. Norman Lewis,
Carverton property owner, spoke
on behalf of the farmers.
Corsages were presented to the
ladies. : :
Tables were festive with autumn
leaves and pumpkins arranged as
a centerpiece.
The chicken dinner was served
by members of the WSCS, Carver-
ton Methodist church,
