Camp Atterbury Monday after

Durelle Scott, who has been ill
at General Hospital and his home

pects to be in Colorado for two
and a half years, after which time
he will go to MacDill Air Force

able to be back at school after a
siege of the mumps.

are spending the week in York, Pa.

Mrs. Martt Harding of Herndon,’
Va., spent the weekend with her

Warren Hicks returned with her
to spend the winter with the Har-

Harveys Lake celebrated their 25th
wedding anniversary October 3.

street. The Owens have left to join
the Doctor in Germany.

her home on Lehman avenue Sat-
urday after spending ten days at
Detroit, Mich. visiting her sister
and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.

Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, spent
the weekend with her mother, Mrs.

phia Navy Yard, and Chief Gunner's

spending a month with their

bee, Evergreen Avenue, Shaver-
town, spent the weekend at Mont-

Celebrate Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Williams,
West Chester Street, observed their
11th wedding anniversary October
12. They were married in St.
Patrick’s Church, Wilkes-Barre, by
Rev. Thomas E. Horan, STD, of
Marywood College.
Mrs. Williams is the former
Betty McEvoy, daughter of Mrs.
Elizabeth McEvoy ‘and the late
James J. McEvoy. Mr. Williams is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter
E. Williams, Sr., 43 Carlisle Street,
Wilkes-Barre, and Thornhurst.
They have two children, Elizabeth
Catherine and Eleanor Ann.

ranceton Methodist Church Sunday
School Class at her home at Ide-
town Friday. Present were Mrs.

Schroeder, Mrs. Minnie Samuel,
Mrs. Corey Switzer, Mrs. Donald
Williams, Pat McCormick, Gail Wil-

To Leave For Florida
Mrs, Della, Thompson and her
sister-in-law, Mrs. Lena T. McNeal
of Fernbrook will leave next week
for a round about trip to St. Pet-
ersburg, Fla. They will
nephew at Pontiac, Mich., then on
to see a sister and her daughter in
Houston, Texas.
Mrs. McNeal will spend the win-
ter in St. Petersburg but Mrs.
Thompson will return after a short
stay.
Jack Pesavento, On Team
At Military Academy
First Class Private Jack Pesa-
vento, member of the freshman
class at Eastern Military Academy,
Long Island, played half back in
the football game with Setan Hall
two weeks ago, score 31 to 9, and
again with Bayshore last week,
score 20 to 0. This year’s team is
reputed to be the best the Academy
ever had.
Jack, who was graduated from
Kingston Township High School in
June was top man on its last year’s
basketball,
Alden Wagner Jr., Back
From World Cruise
Seaman First Class Alden Wag-
ner Jr. returned September 26
from a 65,148 mile cruise around
the world on the U. S. S. William
Mitchell, a troop transport which
can carry over 6,000 men and
enough food and supplies to last
them a year.
Points visited were: Panama
Canal, New Orleans, Germany, Al-
geria, Egypt, French Indo China,
Hungary, Korea, Japan, Hawiian
Islands and back to San: Francisco.
Alden who went into duty last
December has his headquarters at
San Francisco. He is now on! his
way to Japan.

man were given a surprise house
warming at their new home at
Huntsville Tuesday evening. Pres-

Announcement has been made of
the engagement of Miss Alice Run-
dell, daughter of Mrs, Mary Run-
dell, Tunkhannock R.D, to Herbert
K. Gardner, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Rundells .are former residents of
Noxen where the late Rev. Run-

Club met at the Colony Tuesday
evening and named the following
chairmen of committees for the

Kiwanis Entertains
Fernbrook Players
Members of Fernbrook - Little
League Baseball Team, runners-up
to Jackson in the final play-offs,
were ‘entertained by the Dallas
Kiwanis Club, their sponsor, Wed-
nesday night at the Country Club.
Following the dinner, Frederick
Anderson, chairman and master of
ceremonies, introduced Charles
Steinhauer, commissioner; James
Goodwin, president; Frank Hemin-
way, manager, and Tom Hughes,
coach, all of whom spoke briefly.
They were presented with Shaeffer
pen and pencil sets.
Shaeffer ball-point pens were
presented to members of the team:
Darrow Dixon, Gerald Wilson, Mel-
vin Trimble, James Rodgers, Rob-
ert Phillips, Raymond Schultz, Tom
Shoultis, Spencer Holgren, Charles
Lasher, William Steinhauer, Roger
Bellas, and Barrie Landmesser.
The Kiwanis Club goes on record
as ready to sponsor the Fernbrook
team again next year.

the immediate families and the
couple left for Canada. They are
residing on Sambourne street.
Mrs. Post is a graduate of Meyers
High School and is employed by
the Bell Telephone Company. Mr.
Post was graduated from Kingston
Township High School and served
with the U. S. Navy during World
War II. He is employed as printer
at the Wilkes-Barre Publishing
Company.
