Delaware.
Mrs. Harold Yorks is much im-
proved at Robert Packer Hospital,
Sayre.
Stanley Farr has been transfer-
red from Nesbitt Memorial Hospital
to Wyoming Valley Hospital where
he is slowly improving from a virus
infection.
The condition of Samuel Davis
remains about the same. He is
allowed visitors but only for brief
periods.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Eberle Jr.
and family, W. Center Street,
Shavertown are spending some time
in Philadelphia.
Mr. and Mrs. William Setar
walt and daughter, Jeannie of Nor-
folk, Va., have returned home after
visiting Mr. and Mrs. Dana Sickler
of Carverton.
Ralph Besteder « of Harrisburg
spent the weekend with Mr. and
Mrs. Richard Prynn of Carverton.
General and Mrs. Norman Smith
of East Woodstock, Conn. are
spending this week visiting Mr. and
Mrs, Paul Gross and other Back
Mountain friends.
M. Sgt. and Mrs. William
: Rhoades and children of Shalimer,
Fla., have returned to their home
after visiting Mrs. Mae Husted of
Main road, Shavertown. Mrs.
Rhoades is granddaughter of Mrs.
Husted, Shavertown's oldest resi-
dent.
Janet Shaver of Niagara Falls is
spending several weeks with her
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter
Shaver, Pioneer avenue.

ville, and Mr. and Mrs. Wesley
Steelman of Kingston, former
Trucksville residents, left yesterday
to spend a week fishing in Canada.
Mrs, H. H. Zeiser, Huntsville
road, spent the weekend with her
daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Leighton R. Scott of Easton.
Mrs. Scott and son, Leighton were
guests of Mrs. Zeiser during the
week and drove her down.
Mrs. Ida Oxley who has been
visiting Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Ed-
wards at Deerfield Farm for several
days returned to her home at Pro-
vidence, R. I. yesterday.
Mr. and Mrs. John Clause and
daughter, Brenda, Mr. and Mrs.
Clark Krum of Pioneer avenue,
Shavertown, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
Neuner of Goss Manor, visited the
Corning Glass Exhibit on Sunday.
Mrs. A. J. Moreck, Pioneer ave-
nue, left Sunday morning to spend
sometime in Washington, D. C., as
guest of her daughter and son-in-
law, Mr. and Mrs, Russell Johnson.
Mr. and Mrs. James Kozemchak
entertained at an outdoor supper
Sunday honoring their son, James
Jr. and Patsy Materich, who cele-
brated their birthday anniversaries.
The Kozemchaks met the Mater-
iches in the hospital when Jim Jr.
and Patsy were born and have been
close friends ever since. The chil-
dren were born on the same day.
Cpl. Bernard Rogers has return-
ed to Fort Campbell, Ky., after
spending a twenty day furlough
with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Al-
fred Rogers of Harveys Lake.
Miss Ann Peterson has returned
to her home on Norton avenue
after spending the summer as
counsellor at Camp Madeline Mul-
ford, Brookville, N. J. The family
drove down for her Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. James Kozemchak
of Huntsville had as dinner guests
Tuesday night the latter's mother,
Mrs, William Wasnick of Wilkes-
Barre, and her brother and sister-
in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Was-
nick and family of Detroit, Mich.
Sgt. Willard Siley and Cpl. James
. Morgan have returned to Fort Sill,
Oklahoma after spending a two
week furlough with their parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Siley and
Mr, and Mrs. John Morgan of East
Dallas. ”
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Steele and
children have returned to their
home in Meeker after spending
some time in Bloomsburg. Mrs.
Steele has been attending State
Teachers’ College for a refresher
course before taking over one of
the two first grades in Lehman.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert McCarty
and daughters of Hatboro, Pa,
* spent the weekend in Dallas visit-
ing Mr. McCarty’s mother, Mrs.
Edna McCarty of Lehman avenue.
Mrs. John Cummings and daugh-
ter, Rita, will move this weekend
into the former Watt house, Ma-
chell avenue. Mrs. Gertrude Ford
who was living there moved into
the house on Bulford street former-
ly occupied by the Cosgrove family.
Jeannie Hoover was guest of
honor at a party given by her par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hoover
at her home in Demunds recently.
She was eight.
A marriage license has been is-
sued for Miss Betty Newell of Nox-
en and Leonard Territo of West
Wyoming.
Frank Kuehn, and Caddie LaBar
are enjoying a fishing trip in Can-
ada this week.

road, Trucksville, has been ill at
her home with virus pneumonia.
Mrs. Charlotte Snyder of Bing-
hamton, N. Y., is visiting relatives
at Dallas and Kunkle,
Carlton Schooley of Trenton, N.
J., has returned home after spend-
ing two weeks with Larry Hilbert
at Kunkle.
Harold Niemeyer, former Dallas
resident, will celebrate his birthday
anniversary tomorrow, September 1
at- Camp Polk, La. His address is

Kathryn Smith, daughter of Mrs.
Walter Smith, Idetown, is a patient
at the Nesbitt Hospital, recovering
from an appendectomy Sunday
night.
Kenneth Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs.
Kenneth Kocher, Davenport Street,
is celebrating his fourteenth birth-
day in Allentown this week, during
a visit to Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Begley.
Albert Rebennack son‘ of Mrs.
Minnie Rebennack of Loyalville will
resume his studies at the Academy
of Aeronautics, LaGuardia Field,
New York City, N. Y.
Robert Harlos, former resident
of Harveys Lake, will enter the
Bob Jones University, Greenville,
S. C. on September 5 as a minis-
terial student.
Mrs. Allie Morris, Franklin street,
submitted to an operation at Nes-
bitt Hospital on Sunday. She is
“holding her’ own”.

Elton Brace, Jack Pizner and Bill
Hart spent last weekend in Wash-
ington D. C. as guests of Jack
Monka, former Dallas resident,
while attending the wedding of
Miss Maxine Greta Allen and Mi-
chael Hazeltine. Also present were
Mrs. Jane Hazeltine, Mickie’s mo-
ther and Art Hazeltine and Flor-
ence Allabaugh, brother and sister
of the bridegroom, both formerly
of Dallas. :
Mrs. Hazeltine is daughter of Mr.
and Mrs, Howard D. Allen of Ar-
lington, Va. Rev. Carl F. Hess per-
formed the ceremony in Our Lady
of Victory Church, Washington,
D. C.
The bride was given in marriage
by her father and attended by
Miss Wilma XK. Knott. Stephen
Monka was Mickie’s best man and
Billy Beard, Max Pfoutz and How-
ard D. Allen Jr., ushers.
A reception ‘at Hotel 2400 fol-
lowed the wedding and ‘the couple
left for Atlantic City. They will re-
side in Arlington.
Have Baby Boy
Mr. and Mrs. David Jones, Wash-
ington Terrace, Pittston, have an-
nounced the birth of a son, David
Thomas at General Hospital, Aug-
ust 22. Mrs. Jones is the former
Althea Landon daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. George Landon of Kunkle.
Home From Hospital
Mrs. Donald Chamberlain and
her newborn son, Donald Chris,
have returned to her home at 62
Carverton ‘Road, Trucksville. The
baby was born August 19. Mrs.
Chamberlain is the former Mary
Evans.

Rev. Ruth Underwood performed
the double ring ceremony before
an alter of palms, in the bride's
home. Mrs. Robert Prutzman, aunt
of the bride, played the wedding
music.
Miss Doris Ockenhouse was maid
of honor and Kenneth C. Martin,
brother of the bride, was best man.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, wore a ballerina length
gown of white lace, studded with
gold chips over taffeta and a white
head band. She carried a white
prayer book with baby breath cen-
tered with gardenias.

Rev. John Clayton performed the
ceremony in Plymouth Methodist
Church April 4. There were no
attendants. -
Mts. Eddy is a graduate of Leh-
man High School Class of 1949
and had completed two years train-
ing at Nesbitt Hospital School of
Nursing when she was married.
Mr. Eddy attended Forty Fort
High School and is employed. by
Bertels Metal Ware Company in
Kingston.
The couple resides at 236 Hughes

home of the bride’s parents after
which the couple left on a trip.
The bride, a graduate of Dallas
Township High School, is employed
as stenographer at LaBar’s Service
Station in Dallas.
The bridegroom, a graduate of
Laketon High School, is serving
with the United States Army in
Korea.
Sweet Briar Asst. Dean

assume her duties as assistant dean
at Sweet Briar College in Virginia.
Miss Williams is a graduate of
Wellesley College where she re-
ceived her Bachelor of Arts degree
and later her Masters Degree. For
some time she was director of Ad-
missions at Cedar Crest College.
Last year she studied in the Gra-
duate School of Education at
Harvard.

The World Friendship Workshop,
designed to further better under-
standing between countries, takes
.in both Girl Scouts and Girl Guides,
the English counterpart.
Mrs. Nuss is active in Girl Scout
work. She is leader of Interme-
diates at Lehman. She hated to
miss her troop’s activities at Wild-
wood earlier this week, but felt
she must choose the signal honor
of participation in the Workshop.

employed at Rea and Derrick Drug
Store. Mr. Case was graduated
from Dallas Township High School
and served for two years with the
U. S. Navy. He is now employed
at Almstead Air Depot, Middletown.
The couple will reside at Sun-
bury.
