George Barnes has returned to
his home in Wayne, Michigan, after
spending a week here with his
daughter, Mrs. Kyle Cundiff.
Beverly Cundiff has gone to
Newark, N. J., where she has ac-
cepted a position with Radio Cor-
poration of America.
Mr, and Mrs, Harry Ruggles Jr,
are at Clifton Springs, N. Y., where
Mrs. Ruggle’s step father, T. Web-
underwent a serious
surgical operation on Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Barnes of
Huntsville will entertain her sis-
ter and brother-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Arthur Ross of Buffalo this
weekend. -
Cards have been received from
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Currie who
are making a trip to California
and who are enjoying the flowers
and Red Wood trees. They write,
“Leaving Berkley tomorrow for
southern California where we ex-
pect to see Helen Czulegar.”
Mr. and Mrs. George Weintz of
Meeker entertained Sunday Mr. and
Mrs. Grover Anderson of Harveys
Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Ross
of Fairmont Park,
Mr. and Mrs. J. Archbald Brooks,
West Dallas, spent the weekend
visiting their son, Scottie at Camp
Susquehannock. This weekend they
will go to Pine Island Camp, Bel-
grade Lake, Maine to. visit their
other son, Caddie. From there they
will go to Martha's Vinyard for
their vacation.
Joe Garrity who is living on
Long Island is spending two weeks’
vacation with his brother and sister
in law, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Garrity
of Harveys Lake.
Mr, and Mrs. C. W. Smith have
returned to their home on Lake
road after spending their vacation
on Long Island.
Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Lavelle,
Shaver avenue, Shavertown, have
returned from a motor trip to Ni-
agara Falls and: Crystal Beach,
Ontario, Canada.
Pfc. Dennis Ferry who has been
stationed in Europe is spending
a ninety-day furlough with his par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ferry
of Machell avenue,
John Sullivan of Providence, R.I,
spent several days this week with
his daughter and son-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. David Estus, Huntsville
road. He drove David, who vaca-
tioned with him, back home.
Mr. and Mrs. William Kistler
and children of Wilkes-Barre are
spending sometime with Mr. Kist-
ler’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alan
Kistler at Harveys Lake,
Miss Dilys Rowlands, Mrs.
Morgan Rowlands and Mr. and Mrs.

spent last week in Baltimore, Md.,
visiting their daughters and sons-

spent several days this week visit-
ing old friends in Wilkes-Barre and
the Back Mountain area.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Thompson of
Kingston, former Dallas residents,
are vacationing at Cape Cod.
Miss Helen Williamson of: Phila-
delphia arrived this week to wisit
friends and relatives in the Back
Mountain area.
Mrs. Martha Clark of Ithaca, N.Y.
spent the weekend with her son
and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
Don Clark, Lehman avenue.
Mr. and Mrs. C., F. Hess have re-
turned from a visit with their son
at Muncy.
Mrs, Anna Richards, Beaumont,
has been the guest of Mr. and Mrs.
M. D. Kishbaugh, Warden Place,
for the past week.
Mr. and Mrs. John Robinson have :
purchased a farmhouse on Country
Club road at Hay’s Corners and are
completely remodeling it.
Mr. and Mrs, William Graham of y
Philadelphia were recent guests of
the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Oscar Culp of Lehman avenue.
Mr. and Mrs, Henry Peterson and,
son, Joe of Norton avenue, drove
to Branchville, N. J., Sunday to
visit Ann who is a counselor at
Camp Madeline Mulford. Thurs-
day evening the Petersons had as
dinner guests Mr. and Mrs. Veron
Barbot of Scarsdale, Jean Mitchell
of Philadelphia and Maude James
of Carbondale.
Miss Rachel Sharpe of Chambers-
burg is spending the week as guest
of Miss Marilyn Malkemes, Lehigh
street, Trucksville,
Miss Louise Thomas of Wilkes-
Barre has opened her summer home
at Huntsville. She has been ill
for the past three weeks.
Mr. and Mrs, Lester Squier and
family of Lehman have returned
from Canada where they enjoyed a
fishing trip.
The Kraybil duplex on Lehman
avenue has been sold to Jack His-
lop.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ellsworth and
family visited Mr. and Mrs, Archie
Ellsworth and Mr. and Mrs. Earl
Ellsworth of South Montrose and
Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Ellsworth of
Meshoppen on Sunday.
Miss Pauline Kozemchak, daugh-
ter of Mrs. Rose Kozemchak of
Overbrook avenue, became the
bride of Paul J. Selingo, son of
Mrs. Rose Selingo of Newark, N.J.,
on Sunday July 15 at St. John’s
Russian Orthodox Church Edwards-
ville. Rev. Anthony Repella of-
ficiated and Constantine Yurchak
was soloist.
Mrs. Robert Dolbear, Dallas, was
her sister's matron of honor and
Donald Selingo, Newark, was his
brother’s best man. Ushers ware
Walter Kozemchak and Daniel
Kozemchak, brothers of the bride.
The bride wore a floor length
gown of imported rose-point chan-
tilly lace, fashioned with an illusion
yoke, fitted bodice and long taper-
ing sleeves. The bottom of the
full lace skirt, the edge of which
was scalloped, lay softly over a
wide double ruffle of tulle. Her
head was adorned with a net and
lace bonnet trimmed with pearls,
from which flowed a hand rolled
veil of French illusion. She carried
a crescent bouquet of white or-
chids, stephanotis and baby breath.
For her going away she chose a
navy blue gaberdine bolero suit
with white accessories and a white
orchid.
Matron of honor wore a strap-
less aqua gown of, lace and net

styled with lace bodice, full lace
and net skirt, a lace bolero jacket
with a mandarin neckline and short
cap sleeves. Her head was adorn-
ed with a matching net bonnet and
she carried a Colonial bouquet of
lavendar asters and baby breath.
A reception was held at the
bride’s mothers place on Over-
brook avenue, Dallas, after. the
ceremony. The couple left for a
trip through the New England
States and Nova Scotia.
The bride’s mother wore a pea-
cock blue crepe dress with match-
ing accessories and a corsage of
red roses. The bridegroom’s mother
wore a black lace over pink satin
and a corsage of red roses.
Out of town guests included: Mr.
and Mrs. Michael Kozemchak,
Bridgeport, Conn.; Mr. and Mrs.
Donald Selingo, Newark, N. J.; Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Bauer and children,
Virginia and Freddie, Newark; Mr.
and Mrs. Daniel Kozemchak, Phila-
delphia; Mrs. Elizabeth Kraft, New
York City; Mrs. Anna Rosenberg,
Miami, Florida; and Mrs. Rose
Selingo, Newark.
Prenuptial parties were given for
the bride by Mrs. Robert Dolbear,
Mrs. Edward Dunn, Mrs. Luther
Miller, and employees. of Credit
Bureau.
Mrs. Ida Benscoter of Hunlock
Creek and Mrs. Stella Harding of
Canada visited Mr. and Mrs. Oliver
Whitesell last Wednesday.

street home today.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Linger re-
turned to their home in Hanover,
N. H. Wednesday after spending
their vacation with the latter’s
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Lewis
of Lehman. While here they had
as their guests Miss Mary Edwards
of Edwardsville and Harry Heap
of London, England. Mr. Heap ex-
pects to fly to England Sunday for
a five week’s visit with his father
and sister.

At Bridge Luncheon

number of friends at a bridge
luncheon at her home at Lehman
on Tuesday. Present were Mrs.

At a very pretty wedding, Miss
Lois Carolyn Baumbach, daughter
‘of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Baumbach of
the Canal Zone became the bride
of Cpl. Durwood Arden Kocher, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Rodell Kocher of
Harveys Lake Saturday, June 2.
Chaplain Ahrendt performed the
ceremony in the Post Chapel at
Fort Amador, Panama, before an
altar banked with calla lilies, ferns
and palms.
Sgt. King at the chapel organ
played the traditional wedding
music.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, wore ballerino length
embroidered nylon net gown over
taffeta fashioned with tight bodice,
a, full skirt and round neckline.

Miss Susan Hutchins, the bride's
only attendant, wore aqua em-
broidered nylon net styled like the
bride’s and yellow roses in her
hair. She carried yellow roses.
Sgt. Gene Galmiche acted as best
man.
Following the ceremony, the
couple entertained a hundred
guests in the fern room of Hotel
Civoli.
Mrs. Kocher has been employed
as secretary at Fort Clayton. Cpl.
Kocher is a graduate of Lake Town-
ship High School and has been
with the U. S. Army for the past
three years.

Show meeting of the Friendship
Class of Lehman Church on Mon-
day evening July 30, at 8 o'clock
at the home of Dorothy Major.

proaching marriage of their daugh-
ter, Virginia Elizabeth, to Richard
Case, son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell
Case, Glenview Terrace, Shaver-

Miss Lewis is a graduate of the
Sunbury High School and is em-

bury.
Mr. Case attended Dallas Town-
ship School and served two years
in the U, S. Navy during World
War 2. He is now a civilian em-
ployee at the Olmstead Air Force
Base, at Middleton, Pa.
