tioned at Washington, D. C., will

James Langdon of Elmcrest. He
has just returned from Korea.
Jackie Barnes who fell on a rock
at his home at Elmcrest last week
suffered a cut on his knee that re-
quired three stitches. They were
removed on Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Taylor of
Atlanta, Ga., are spending some-
time with the former’s mother,
Mrs. F. M. Gordon of Norton ave-
nue. Tomorrow they expect to go
to New York City for the Shrine1
Convention. Mr. Taylor’s brother,
Ernest of Melbourne, Fla., also
visited the Gordons and will at-
tend the Convention.

Lehman avenue and Dr. and Mrs.
Malcolm Miller of West Pittston
have returned from the Jersey
Shore after spending a week there.

for duty to Paris Island after spend-

day afternoon at 4 p.m. Rev. Ed-
ward Smith performed the cere-
mony in’ First Christian Church,
Miami.
Attendants were Mrs. Bruce Hig-
gins of Miami, sister of the bride
and Howard Renart, Miami.
Following the ceremony, a re-
ception. was held at the Higgins
home and the couple left for
Tampa.
Mrs. Maddox is a graduate of
Wyoming Seminary and Edgewood
Park, Briarcliff Manor, N, Y. She
is employed as a medical secretary
at Miami.
Mr. Maddox is a graduate of
University of Miami.
Douglas Taylor, Guest
On Fourteenth Birthday
Mrs. George Taylor entertained
at their home at Harveys Lake
last Tuesday evening honoring
their son, Douglas who celebrated
his fourteenth birthday annivers-
ary. Present were Keith and Karen
Richards, Betsy and Bobby Carpen-
ter, Keith, Curtin and Todd Swan-
son, Linda, Donald and Howard
Grey, Miss Hazel Baer, Miss Elean-
or Humphrey, Mrs, Carl Swanson,
Mrs. Raymond Grey, Grandmother
Heck and the hostess.
Farleys Visit Utah
Dr. and Mts, Eugene Farley, sum-
mer residents of Beaumont, left on
Friday for a month’s tour of the
west, with Utah as a special ob-
jective. Their youngest son, Eu-
gene, is working for the summer
in the National Park as a guide.
The Farleys expect to spend some
time with him, travelling west by
the southern route and returning
by the northern.
Cuts Foot While Bathing
When he stepped on a tin can
while swimming at Harveys Lake,
Alan, Kistler, Sr., severaly cut his
left foot requiring four stitches. He
was treated by Dr. A. A. Mascali.
David E. Ace Dies
In Buffalo At 69
Funeral® services were held on
Thursday from the Alfred Bronson
Funeral Home, Sweet Valley, for
David E. Ace, 69, former resident
of Dallas, who died in Buffalo,
N. Y. on Saturday.
He was 'a member of the Dallas
F & M Lodge.
His widow, the former Julia Hub-
bell of Noxen survives him, also
two daughters, Mrs. Christine Galla-
gher and Mrs. Ethel Bonannini,
both of Buffalo; four grandchildren
and one great grandchild; one
sister, Mrs, Philip Stauft, Ransom.
Interment was in Orcutt Ceme-
Noxen.
William Leacacos of Mt. Green-
wood road, left Saturday for New
York City to attend the summer
session at Columbia University.
Miss Geraldine Shirley Fischer,
daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Andrew
Fischer of Ridge street, Shaver-
town, became the bride of James
E. Regan, son of Mr. and Mrs.
William F. Regan of Philadelphia
Saturday morning at 10 o'clock
in. St. Therese’s Church. Father
J. J. O'Leary performed the double
ring ceremony and read the nuptial
mass.
Mrs. Robert Laux played the
wedding music and Mrs. Frank L.
McGarry was soloist:
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, wore gown of imported
chantilly lace fashioned with nylon
net yoke outlined with seed pearls,
off the shoulder neckline, tight
bodice and double train. Her veil
of silk illusion fell from a lace
cap edged with orange blossoms
and she carried a white prayer
book marked with white orchids.
Miss Whitney Breslin of Shaver-
town, a former classmate of the
bride, was maid of honor. She
chose green marquisheer made
along Grecian lines with tucked
bodice and full skirt, and carried
a Colonial bouquet of yellow roses.
Bridesmaids were Miss Mary L.
Barrett of Wilkes-Barre, cousin of
the bride, Maryanna Tonrey of
Pittston and Betty Jane Cavan of
Buffalo, N. Y., another cousin. They
all selected orchid marquisheer
styled like the maid of honor’s and
carried yellow roses and mixed
summer flowers. All wore ivy
leaves in their hair.
Mrs. Fischer, mother of the bride,
wore aqua chiffon witlk® matching
accessories and red roses and Mrs.
Regan, mother of the bridegroom,
rose lace and chiffon with orchids.
Best man was William P. Regan,
brother of the bridegroom, and
ushers Robert Aicher of Easton,
cousin of the bride, John Loughney
of Pittston and Charles O’Neill of
Philadelphia.

Legion Home, Wilkes-Barre, and
the couple left for New York City.
They will reside at 26 Ridge Street,
Shavertown.
Mrs. Regan is a graduate of
Kingston Township High School
and College Misericordia. She has
been employed by her father’s con-
struction company. Mr. Regan was
graduated from St. John’s High
School, Philadelphia and served for
three years during World War II
in the Naval Air Corps. He is
associated in business with the
bride’s father.
