Shavertown, spent the week in

with his new daughter, Peggy Ann.
Mr. and Mrs. Myron Trumbower
of Williamsport spent the weekend

Mrs. Harold Titman, Mrs. A. G.
Rutherford, Mrs. Byron Creasy, Mrs.

H. W. Smith attended an antique
auction sale at Laceyville on Sat-
urday.
Murray Scureman and Carl Hed-
~ den are enrolled at Camp Susque-
hannock above Montrose for the
summer. They will leave about the
first of the month.
Mrs. T.M.B. Hicks, Pioneer
avenue, is spending the week in
Charleston, S. #C. visiting her
Mrs. M. L. Todd.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schuler, Le-
high street, Shavertown, spent se-
veral days last week in New York
City where they enjoyed the Yan-
kee—St. Louis baseball game.
Mr. and Mrs. Murray Scureman
and son, Murray, moved Tuesday
from Huntsville road to Maple av-
enue, Kingston. Mr, and Mrs. Bruce
C. Moen of Scranton have pur-
chased the Huntsville road house.
Miss Ida Eyer has been ill at her
home on Spring street, Shaver-
town. Her sister, Mrs. Sterling Eyer
has been taking care of her.
George Houck, who recently sub-
‘mitted to an operation at General
Hospital has returned to his home
on Spring street.
Mr. and Mrs. Abram Nesbitt 2nd
‘and son, Jan of Lake Catalpa, will
leave June 26th to spend two
months in England and Europe.
Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Lutsey,
Summit street, Shavertown, spent
the weekend at Cape May, N. J.
Mr. and Mrs. R, H. Patterson,
newlyweds of Scranton, have
rented the Straw house on Hunts-
ville road. They are honeymooning
in Bermuda now and expect to
move in on their return.
Mrs. James L. Wiggmore and
daughter, Suzanne, of Attleboro,
Mass., arrived Wednesday to. spend
two weeks with the former’s mo-
ther, Mrs. Georgia Straw of Over-
brook road. The Wiggmores have
just returned from Huntsville, Ala.,
where Lt. Commander Wiggmore
is stationed with the U.S. Navy.
Naomi Shaver R.N. who has
been spending the past fifteen days
with, her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Claude Shaver of Woodlawn drive,
has returned to Columbus, Ohio.
‘Mr, and Mrs. Harris Haycox re-
turned to their home on Main
road Wednesday after spending
six weeks in Hawaii and' on the
West Coast where they visited Mrs.
Haycox’s family.
Mr. and Mrs. James Morris en-
tertained at a Father’s Day dinner
at the Country Club Sunday, Mr.
and Mrs, Jack Kemp, Mrs. Frances
Sutliff, Miss Dorothy Morris, Edgar
and Jimmie Morris of Wilkes-Barre.
Mrs. Howard Bailey and son, Carl
of Wellington avenue left by motor
for Fort Worth, Texas, to make
their home. Mr. Bailey has been
employed there for some time.

Garinger left Friday to spend ten
days with Mrs. Gregory and Mr.

last Monday evening. Slides were

Robert Rogers, Mrs. Freda Apo-
liski, Mrs. Thomas Reese, Mrs. Har-
vey McCarty, Miss Beverly Cundiff,

Ruggles are visiting relatives in
Wilmington, Del.

day after spending a week with his

Pikes Creek, are spending their va-
cation in the Shenandoah Valley,
Woodstock, Va.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Post, Cliff-
side, Trucksville, are spending their
vacation visiting Niagara Falls and
New York State.
Mrs. George Turn and daughter,
Penny and mother, Mrs. Viola H.
Atwater have returned to their
home on E. Center street, Shaver-
town, after spending the winter at
Penn State College.
Mr. and Mrs. Horace Cook, Leh-
man, spent the weekend with their
daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Dilley at Garfield
Heights, Ohio.
Louie W. Ayre, Trucksville, has
enrolled in the Virgil Fox Organ
Master Class at the Riverside
Church, New York City for next
week. She will study Monday
through Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Ikeler of
Hayfield Farm have returned from
Biloxi, Miss., where Mr. Ikeler was
a patient at the Gay Clinic for
asthma, After a two week's stay
with six treatment, Mr. Ikeler is
cured and back at work.
Pvt. First Class Dennis Ferry
who has been in Austria for the
past two and a half years arrived
at the home of his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Frank Ferry, Machell
Saturday. He has’ reen-
listed for another six years as
diesel mechanic.
Miss Virginia Ferry, teacher at
Rehobeth Beach, Del, is spending
a three week vacation in Canada.
J. Levine of Los Angeles, gra-
duate of Harvard University in the
class of 1951, is guest of Miss Lois
Kiefer at Shrineview.
Fred M. Kiefer, who is employed
in New York City, spent several
days this week with his family at
Shrineview.
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne King of
Meeker will visit their son, Dick at
Indiantown Gap over the weekend.
Dick has ‘been there eight weeks.
Miss Margaret Veitch, Trucks-
ville, is taking care of Mrs, Arthur
Loveland, Main road, Trucksville.
F. Gordon Mathers, Martin Bil-
bow and George Sweitzer are
spending the week on a fishing
trip in Maniwacki, Canada.
Mrs. Bertha Reynolds, former
Trucksville resident, submitted to
an appendectomy at Allegheny
General Hospital last Tuesday. She
has returned to the home of
her son, Ehrman Reynolds, 118
Cochran Road, Pittsburgh 28, Pa.,
on Sunday.
Alfred Boysen has returned to
his home on Elmcrest after at-
tending the funeral of his eldest
brother, Ernest at Clinton, Iowa.
Mrs. Florence Foote, Lehman
avenue, has as guest her daughter,
Mrs. B. G. Buchanan of Indian-
apolis.
Mr. and Mrs. Forest Kunkle re-
cently visited their son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs, Alan
Kunkle of New Brunswick, N. J.

of Lehman celebrated their fifteenth
wedding anniversary Sunday with

Mr. and Mrs. Robert McCarty of
Lehman avenue announce the birth
of a baby girl, Peggy Ann, at Nes-
bitt Hospital Friday morning, June
15. The McCartys have another
little girl, Donna. Mrs. McCarty
now home from the hospital and
baby are doing nicely.
A Pleasant Surprise
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mazer, Leh-
man Center, received the thrill of
their lives Sunday evening when
they returned from a lovely week-
end on Long Island and found
their son, Pvt. Joseph Jr. sitting
in the living room. Pvt. Joe is on
a ten-day furlough from Fort Jack-
son, S, Carolina.
Arthur Major Is Guest
On Eightieth Birthday
Arthur Major was guest of
honor at a dinner party given at
his home in Lehman Saturday to
help him celebrate his eightieth
birthday anniversary.
Before his retirement Mr. Major
conducted the general store at Leh-
man, the old building now stand-
ing, and farmed. He likes nothing
better now than to slip over to the
old homestead, about a mile from
his present home, and see how
things are going.
The Majors have four children,
all of whom were at the dinner:
Allan, Bryce, William and Dorothy;
others at the party were Mrs. Al-
lan Major, Mrs. Bryce Major, Mrs.
W. M. Major, Burton Major, Bev-
erly Major, Thomas Major, the

Bride Of Robert L.
At a very pretty wedding, Miss
Lois Ann Warriner, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Warriner of
Demunds road, became the bride
of Robert, L. Morgan, son of Mrs.
Llewellyn J. Morgan of Shaver-
town and the late Llewellyn J.
Morgan, Saturday, June 16 at 2
p- m. Rev. Frederick Reinfurt per-
formed the double ring ceremony
in Dallas Methodist Church before
an altar banked with palms and
white gladioli.
Mrs. Ruth Turn Reynolds played
the wedding music.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, was attractive in white
satin gown, styled with square
neckline, tight bodice and full skirt,
and long tight sleeves pointed at
wrist. Her finger tip wveil of illu-
sion fell from a Juliet cap of seed
pearls and she carried white roses
and gardenias.
Miss Beryl Colwell, maid of hon-
or, selected green eyelet organdy
and matching cap and carried pink
roses. - Bridesmaids, Mrs. Don Nay-
lor and Miss Beverly Morgan, sister
of the bridegroom, chose orchid
eyelet organdy, matching caps and
yellow roses.
Little Carolyn Evans was cunning
in yellow organdy with matching
Morgan
bonnet and basket of mixed spring
flowers.
Mrs. Warriner, mother of the
bride, wore pink shantung suit with
matching accessories and pink
roses, and Mrs. Morgan, mother of
the bridegroom, light blue nylon
with beige accessories and yellow
roses.
Mrs. Celia Lape, grandmother of
the bride, chose navy with white
accessories and orchid corsage, and
Mrs. Lyons, grandmother of the
bridegroom, navy with matching
accessories and pink roses.
Following the ceremony, a re-
ception was held at Brokenshire’s
Harveys Lake Hotel and the couple
left for Atlantic City.
Miss Warriner is a graduate of
Wyoming Seminary and attended
Dickinson College for two years.
She is employed by Casualty and
Fidelity Insurance Company Wilkes-
Barre.
Mr. Morgan is a graduate of
Kingston Township High School
and served with the U. S. Army in
Germany. He attended North
Carolina State College and is now
a. student at Philadelphia Textile
Institute in Germantown, where he
is studying textile engineering. He
is a member of Phi Psi Fraternity.

Miss Shirley Siglin, daughter of
Mrs. George Siglin and the late
George Siglin of Noxen will marry
Charles Witter, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Morrison Witter, Harveys
Lake, tomorrow, June 23 at 8 p.m.
Rev. Henry Kraft will perform the
ceremony in St. Luke's Lutheran
Church, Noxen.
John Hackling Jr. will play the
wedding march and Mrs. Virginia
Swanson, will sing.
Miss Charlotte Siglin, sister of

Kenneth Rankin of Great Neck,
N. Y. They will spend the month
of August travelling throughout the
West and return to Garden City
about Labor Day.
