Mrs. J. Archbald Brooks, West
Dallas, attended her class reunion
at Smith College over the week-
end.
Donald Reynolds, grandson of
Mrs. George Reynolds Sr., former
Trucksville resident, and nephew
of Mrs. George Reynolds Jr. of
Trucksville, graduated from Penn
State College in Air Force uniform
on Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Cease,
Trucksville, received a letter from
Warren Monday saying he had ar-
rived in Japan just one month
after leaving home, had wonderful
food aboard a swell boat. The
letter, sent air mail, was eight days
on the way. Food in Japan con-
sists mostly of potatoes and rice.
Living quarters are comfortable.
Mr. and Mrs. William Reedy and
Billy and Bobby of Rochester, N.Y.,
spent the weekend visiting Mr.
Reedy’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. John
~ A. Reedy of Center Hill road. The
Reedy’s daughter, Miss Mary and
friend of Atlanta, Ga., are spend-
~~ ing, three weeks with ‘them.

and daughter, Ruth of Lake Hopat-
cong, N. J., spent the evening of
Memorial Day with their parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Lloyd in the

Mr. and Mrs. Ilone Shipps and
daughter, Bonnie Lea of Hunlock
Creek called on Mrs. Burt Wilcox
and daughter, Charlotte at their
home at Outlet Sunday evening.
Miss Ruth Haycox arrived at her
home on Main road last Monday to
spend the summer vacation with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harris
Haycox. Ruth was graduated from
Southern Seminary this month.
Mr. and Mrs, Homer Allen and
family of Oak street, Trucksville,
have moved to Sweet Valley, Tenn.
Mr. Allen was with the Columbia
Mills. Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Elliott
of Philadelphia will move in their
house. Mrs. Elliott is the former
Marian Gregory.
Rev. and Mrs. Emory Greenfield
of Plains and Mr. and Mrs. John
Ferguson of Factoryville were re-
cent visitors of Mrs. W. B. Risley
of Lehman avenue.
Miss Patricia Manning, former
Shrineview resident, has been the
guest of Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Flack, Goss Manor. :
Miss Betsy Reynolds, member of
the Junior Class at Penn State
College, arrived last Wednesday to
spend the summer months with
her mother, Mrs. George Reynolds
of Trucksville,
John Milauskus has returned to
his home at Lehman after spending
the year at Mansfield State Tea-
chers’ College.
Lee Matchett, student at Penn
State College, has returned to the
home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
" K. W. Matchett, Elmcrest, for the
summer vacation.
Dick Harris, student at Temple
University, spent the weekend with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Morris
Harris of Woodlawn drive. He ex-
. pects to work in Philadelphia this
summer.
James York, Davenport street,
was graduated from Penn State
College last week.
Al Davis who has been teaching
near Allentown is spending the
summer months with his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. William Davis of Park
street. Al was honorably dis-
charged from the U. S. Army se-
veral months ago.

lege, has returned to the home of

MARGARET AUTEN COUGHLIN
Miss Margaret Auten Coughlin,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hale S.
Coughlin of Lehman, was one of
the 210 students who received
their bachelor of arts degree at
majored in physical education and
represented the Department on
Curriculum Committee one year.
She also played in the intercolle-
giate hocky team, was a member
of the Outing Club, served as so-
cial Chairman for her dormitory
and as house adviser. She was a
student adviser.
Commencement speaker, chosen
by members of the graduating
class, was Irwin Edman, Professor
of Philosophy at Columbia Univer-
sity. President Henry T. Moore ex-
pressed his farewell to the seniors
Friday afternoon, June 1.

cation in Nantucket. On her way
home she expects to attend her
class reunion at Wellesley College.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Snyder and
son Billy, Syracuse, have returned
home after attending the Lehman-
Jackson alumni banquet. Mrs. Sny-
der and infant spent a week with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Culp, Huntsville.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Volepto, East-
on, spent the weekend with their
aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Snyder, Lehman.
Skippy and Tommy Shaver,
children of Mr. and Mrs. George
Shaver, Jr., Fernbrook, are reco-
vering from recent illness.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Conklin and
son David, Bethlehem, have re-
turned home after visiting Mrs.
Conklin’s parents, Mr. and Mrs.
George Shaver in Trucksville over
the weekend. Charles Jr., 8, will
spend his vacation with his grand-
parents.

Trucksville, celebrated their 34th
wedding anniversary June 5 by mo-
toring to Bethlehem and Allentown,
accompanied by their grandson
Skippy, and Mrs, Shaver’s sister,

Miss Nancy Brader, student at
Cedar Crest College, arrived the
first of the month to spend the
summer vacation with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Norwood Brader. The
Braders expect to move to their
new home on Machell avenue the
first of the month. *

and Mrs. John Clause and daugh-
ter, Brenda, spent Sunday visiting
relatives in Catawissa.

At a very pretty wedding, Miss
Mary Elizabeth Day, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Asa Day of Terrace
street, became the bride of William
Murray Morley, son of Mr. and
Mrs. William Drew Morley of
Abington, Pa., in Dallas Methodist
Church yesterday at 4 p.m. Rev.
Frederick Reinfurt performed the
double ring ceremony before an al-
tar banked with white spring
flowers and ferns.
Mrs. Ruth Turn Reynolds, or-
ganist, played the “Wedding
March,” ‘Because’ and “The Wed-
ding Prayer” (“O Perfect Love”).
Maid of honor was Miss Diana
Ellison, New York City, former
classmate of the bride at Mt.
Holyoke College. Bridesmaids were
Sara Frances and Julia Clay Briggs,
twin cousins of the bride of Val-
dosta, Ga., Mrs. Asa Day Jr. of
Connyngham and Mrs. J. Houston
Day of Shavertown. Flower girl
was Susan Elizabeth Day, niece of
the bride, and ring bearer, J. Hous-
ton Day Jr., nephew of the bride.
Best man was William Murray
Morley, father of the bridegroom.
J. Houston Day, Asa Day Jr. and
Alan Day, James Schierloh of
Hackensack, N. J. and Frank Mur-
ray of Montclair, N. J. acted as
ushers.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, was attractive in white
organdie gown fashioned with tight
bodice, long full skirt and off the
shoulder neckline. ‘She wore a
bolero jacket with long tight

sleeves. Her heart shaped head-
dress was of organdie and she
carried a white prayer book marked
with white orchid.
Miss Ellison chose yellow or-
gandie over taffeta made with tight
cotton lace bodice, full skirt and
short jacket. Bridesmaids selected
green organdie similarly made. All
wore matching horsehair picture
hats and carried nosegays of spring
flowers with purple shades pre-
dominating.
Little Susan Elizabeth was cun-
ning in white organdie embroidered
in pastel shades and matching
nosegay, and J. Houston Day Jr. in
short white suit. - He carried a
black velvet pillow.
Mrs. Day, mother of the bride,
wore powder blue lace dress, floor
length, with matching maleine hat
and yellow carnations, and Mrs.
Morley beige lace with natural
straw hat and green orchids.
Following the ceremony, a recep-
tion was held at the home of the
bride.
Mrs, Morley attended Moravian
Seminary and graduated from New-
ton, Mass., High School. She was
graduated from Bucknell University
on June 10. Mr. Morley, was grad-
uated from Philadelphia Central
High School and will receive his
degree at Lehigh University on
Monday.
The couple will live at Jeannette,
Pa. where Mr. Morley has ac-
cepted a position with the Elliott
Engineers. °
Mr, and Mrs. Clyde M. Cooper,
Pioneer avenue, Dallas, announce
the engagement of their daughter,
Polly Lou, to Cpl. Frank G. Mathers
3rd, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. G.
Mathers of Trucksville. No date
has been set for the wedding.
Polly Lou is a graduate of Dallas
Borough High School, attended
Bloomsburg State Teachers’ College
and is a member of the Senior
Class at College Misericordia.

Bud was graduated from Wy-
oming Seminary, attended Penn
State Extension School and Uni-
versity of Miami. Before his en-
listment he was employed as gen-
eral manager of Mathers Construc-
tion Company. Since then he has
been stationed at Lowry Air Field,
Denver, Col. He reported to Fort
Dix, N. J. Wednesday from where
he expects to sail for France,

Celebrate Anniversaries
Mr. and Mrs. George Shaver,
Fernbrook, their
fifth wedding anniversary June 19,
on the same day that Mrs. Shaver’s
will celebrate
maternal grandparents celebrate
their fiftieth in Kingston.
Mr, and Mrs. George Shaver
have two children, Skippy, four,
and Tommy, five months. They
were married in the Lehman
Church by Rev. S. K. Abbott.
Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Harrison,
the grandparents, are well known
and have many connections in the
Back Mountain, having once owned
a summer home in Idetown. They
will hold open house at 417 Elm
Street from 2-4 and 7-9. They
were married at the home of the
bride’s parents.
There are eight children, fifteen
grandchildren and five great-grand-
children; Children are Mrs, Charles
Snyder, Lehman; Ernest, Swoyer-
ville; Mrs. Willard Goss, Benton;
! William, Wilkes-Barre; Mrs. Fran-
| cis McHugh and Edgard, Kingston;
Marshall, Idetown; Willard, Trucks-
ville.

Miss Paulina V. Clossen, daugh-
of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Clossen of
Bloomsburg, became the bride of
‘Elmer Wyant; son of Mr. and Mrs.
James Wyant of Noxen, Saturday,
June 9 at 6:30 p.m. in Hidlay
Lutheran Church of Bloomsburg.

Clossen, sister of the bride, and
Maynard Harring of Pitman. Ushers
were James Wyant of Harveys
Lake, brother of the bridegroom,
and Paul Clossen of Bloomsburg,

Mrs. Wyant is a graduate of
Scott Township High School and
Wilkes-Barre Business College. She
has been employed by the Depart-
ment of Public Instruction at Har-
risburg; Mr. Wyant was graduated
from Noxen Township High School,
attended Penn State College, and
was graduated from Bloomsburg
State Teachers’ College. He is em-
ployed as executive secretary of
the Back Mountain Town and
Country Y. M. C. A.
