ill at the Veteran's Hospital in
Wilkes-Barre, as the result of in-
juries received in an automobile
accident in 1945.

Mrs. Eleanor Hall of Plymouth

had a severe heart attack on Fri-

Mrs. Carl Stainbrook is visiting
her daughter in New York City.

a recent Sunday in Susquehanna

is making a good recovery after a
recent appendectomy. His son,
Terry, is spending several days with

rance Naugle.

Andrew Kozemchak, chief gun-
ner’s mate, USN, husband of Mrs.
Olga Kozemchak of Overbrook
Avenue, is serving aboard des-
troyer USS Buckley with the Sixth
Fleet in the Mediterranean.
The Sixth Fleet is one of the lar-
gest continuous operational fleets
| afloat today, second only to the
| Seventh Fleet which is supporting
{United Nations efforts in Korea.
On the Mediterranean cruise, the
Buckley crewmen will be con-
ducted on special tours to Rome,
Italy; Paris, France; Switzerland,
and other cities and countries that
are inland from the coast cities.

Warmouth's Poem
In New Anthology
Dale Warmouth, a Wilkes Col-
lege freshman from Dallas, has been
advised by the Board of Judges of
the National Poetry , Association
that his poem, “Ringneck Phea-
sant,” will be included in a bound
volume to be published by the As-
sociation in the near future.
This book, which will bear the
title, “Voice of Young America,”
will contain selected poems pre-
viously printed in the annual an-
thologies of the Association.
Warmouth’s poem has already
appeared in ‘‘America Sings,” an
anthology of American college poe-
try, and in the Wilkes College
“Manuscript,” student literary ma-
gazine.
The Wilkes student is the son of
Mrs. Elva Warmouth of Dallas, He
has also had poems published by
“The Writer,” “Review or Contem-
porary Poetry,” “Epos,” ‘New
Athenaeum” and the ‘American
Courier.” In 1950, Warmouth re-
ceived the Anne Hamilton Poetry
Book Award, given annually by
“The Writer” magazine to the
young poet who shows the greatest
improvement in poetic expression
during the year.
In a congratulatory letter to
Warmouth, David Hartman, secre-
tary of the National Poetry Asso-
ciation, said in part: “During the
past 14 years, we have published
over 200 annual anthologies of

July 4th Celebration
Franklin Township Volunteer
Fire Company is planning an all
day celebration at Orange on July
4.
There will be a big chicken din-
ner at the Orange Church Hall at
noon, and sporting events and
