THE YELLOW PAGES Dies Of Sudden ‘Heart Attack Mrs. Gertrude Toomb Stricken Wed. Night Mrs. Gertrude Toomb, who would within a matter of weeks have celebrated her 82nd birthday, died suddenly of coronary thrombosis Wednesday night at the home of Miss Ruth Boston, Mt. Greenwood, Trucksville, where she had made her home for the past four years. Mrs. Toomb had remained active in various organizations including Wyoming ~ Valley Woman’s Club, New Century Club, and the D.AR., had attended the annual luncheon of Woman's Club two weeks ago. Her death was totally unexpected, as she had been in more than usually good health on the day of her death. The Toomb family before the death of W. R. Toomb in 1939 had operated a grocery store on the corner of Academy and Main, Wilkes-Barre, for many years. On her husband’s death, and at the outbreak of the war, Mrs. Toomb followed her son Robert to Philadel- phia, ‘after the war returned to Wyoming Valley and the Back Mountain. Mrs. Toomb is survived by one son, W., R. Toomb, in the insur- ance business, and a sister, Mrs. Fred Vincent, Wilkes-Barre. There are several nieces, but no grand- : PAGE FIVE children.
