Paul Shaver Injures
Leg When Jack Slips
Paul Shaver is confined to his
home by injuries received a week
ago Tuesday when a screw jack
with which he and others were at-
tempting to raise his home flew out
and hit him in the leg rupturing a
blood vessel.
He was treated by Dr. J. C.
Fleming and Dr. F. Budd Schooley.
Full extent of injuries has not been
determined from x-ray pictures,
Mr. Shaver was working in the
basement with his son, Paul, Har-
old Brobst and Edwin Creasy at-
tempting to level floors when the
jack slipped causing his injuries.

Joint Board Proposed
For Three Districts
(Continued from Page One)
said, would amount to the follow-
ing: Dallas Borough, $45,222.98;
Dallas Township, $91,722.40 and
Franklin Township, $21,075.04.
Rental fees for the districts would
total: Dallas Borough, $5,295.25;
Dallas Township, $8,348.50, and
Franklin Township, $1,106.25.
Each of the districts, he said,
would receive from the State a
share of the rentals amounting to
one-half of their reimbursement
fractions times their own shares of
the rental.
Reimbursements on rental to
each district, he said, would be as
follows: Dallas Borough, $1,613.46;
Dallas Township, $2,874.38 and
Franklin Township, $441.78. This
would mean net rentals of $3,681.79
for Dallas Borough, $5,474.12 for
Dallas Township and $664.47 for
Franklin Township.
After presenting the plan, Mr.
Teter asked for any questions from
the Board members. There were
several from various members
which cleared up minor points, then
Floyd Chamberlain ,of Dallas Town-
ship Board suggested that since the
plan would require the expenditure
of money for additional elementary
school rooms in Dallas Borough, it
might be well to consider construc-
tion of one great central high school
Mountain area.
Mr. Teter replied that under the
Joint Board set-up the elementary
building in Dallas Borough and the
High Schoo! Building in Dallas
Township would be owned 50-50 by
the joint district.
“In matters of education”, said
Mr. Teter, “it is well to forget any
imaginary township or Borough
lines.”
Mr. Teter suggested that all three
Boards prepare tentative budgets
for the next two years taking into
consideration the advantages to
students and the saving of costs
under a joint board plan as com-
pared to individual boards and then
come to a decision on his proposal.
Attending were: County Super-
intendent of Schools E. S. Teter;
Assistant County Superintendent of,
Schools Wesley E. Davies; Dallas
Township School Board, Donald Ev-
ans, Floyd Chamberlain, Stephen
Davis, Thomas Moore, Daniel Rich-
ards, Raymond Kuhnert, supervis-
ing principal; Jonathan Valentine,
solicitor; Dallas Borough School
Board: Harry Ohlman, Lewis Le-
Grand, Dr. R. M. Bodycomb, David
Jenkins, L. L. Richardson, Charles
James, supervising principal; John
Hessel, solicitor; Franklin Township
School Board: John Parry, Tom
Earl, Harold Lewis, Russell Race,
George Dymond; Albert “Hub” Pes-
avento, Marty Walsh, George Prat-
er, Fred Anderson, Clyde Faatz,
Daniel Shaver, F. Gordon Mathers,
to serve all districts of the Back Paul Mulcey, Francis Ambrose, Dav-
id Williams and Howard Risley.
At the conclusion of the meeting
a luncheon was served to the
County Superintendent's staff and
three school boards in the Home
Economics Room.
