Miss Lois Kiefer, member of the freshman class at Wellesley Col- lege, spent several days last week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kiefer of Shrineview. She flew down and back between mid- year examinations. Miss Marilyn Ohlman is attend- ing the midyear prom at High Point College, N. C. Frederick Malkemes Sr. of Shav- ertown submitted to an appendicitis operation at General Hospital last week. His son, “Chuck” was also in the Hospital for observation. Dorothy Mary Tibus, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Tibus, has re- covered from a recent illness and returned to school. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dugan of Main road have moved to Long Island where Mr. Dugan has been employed. The house they were occupying has been purchased by Mr. and Mrs. William Dorn of Shavertown who will move in shortly. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Brobst, former residents of Huntsville road, occupying the Rachel Hoover house on Ridge street. Peter Weaver who was ill at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Weaver of Franklin street is better and has returned to school. Harold Hislop, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hislop, Franklin street, is ill at the home of his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Som- mers of Wyoming. Mrs. J. K. Murray and daughter, Naomi of Trucksville, spent the weekend in Washington, D.C, where they attended the wedding of the former's daughter, Elda to Milton Lomax. Miss Ruth Drake who is on the nursing staff at Johns Hopkins Hos- pital in Baltimore spent the week- end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Drake of Lehman avenue. Mrs. Mary Rohrbach is slightly improved at her home on Lehman avenue after being seriously ill for a week. Mrs. William Pufts played the wedding march and a guest soloist sang “Because” and “The Lord’s Prayer.” Attendants were Miss Dorothy Meyers, former Nanticoke resident, now roommate of the bride in Washington, and Earl Yingling of Washington. Fred- erick Murray of Andrews Field, Miss Elda Jean Murray Becomes Bride Of Milton Raymond Lomax was attractive in white street length crepe dress with matching accessories. Her shoulder bouquet was of gardenias and stephonitis. Miss Meyers chose navy blue street length dress with peach colored accessories and carried a Colonial bouquet of matching roses. Following the ceremony, a recep- tion for about thirty guests was held at the home of the bride- groom's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Young of Washington, after which the couple left for Williamsburg, Va., and Salisbury, N. C. . Mrs. Lomax is a graduate of Leh- man High School and has been em- ployed in the General Accounting Department at Washington. Mr. Lomax was graduated from Salis- bury High School and served dur- ing World War II with the U. S. Navy. He is also employed in the General Accounting Department. Miss Edna Grossman Is Bride of Fred Kammler Announcement has been made of the marriage of Edna Grossman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Grossman of Philadelphia to Fred Kammler, of Philadelphia, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Kammler of Shavertown.
