Death Follows Heart
Attack In Brooklyn
Frank M. Garrahan, longtime
resident of Dallas, died Friday af-
ternoon at Swedish Hospital,
Brooklyn, N.Y. where he was taken
following a heart attack while he
| and Mrs. Garrahan were visiting
their daughter, Mrs. S, Carlton Ross
over the Thanksgiving - holiday,
Held in high respect throughout
the Back Mountain Region where
over a lifetime he had made hun-
dreds of friends, Frank Garrahan
was born in Dallas and would
have been seventy-three years of
age in January. His father, the late
Thomas M. Garrahan was an early
resident and for many years oper-
ated a saw mill at Harvey's Lake.
As a youngster, Frank's first job
was in the old Dallas Broom Fac-
tory located in what is now Ro-
sary Hall owned by College Miser-
icordia. He later drove wagon for

The Garrahans then sold their
home on Church street and moved
to Hatfield, Pa., to be near their
son, Dr. Ellsworth Garrahan who
is a dentist.
They frequently returned to Dal-
las to" visit with old friends and
only a few weeks ago while here
for the funeral of Margaret Czule-
gar with whom he had worked so
many years, expressed the desire
to find a home in the old neigh-
borhood and return to the place
where he was born.
Frank was a past master of Dal-
las Lodge 531 F. & A. M. He knew
everybody far and wide and he re-
membered their fathers and grand-
fathers before them,
Beside his son and daughter, he
leaves his wife, Maude, who is re-
maining for the time in Hatfield.
He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Earl
Cairl of Bloomall, Pa., and ten
nieces and nephews, four grand-
children, and three great grand-
children.
Largely attended funeral ser-
vices on Monday afternoon at
Brickel Funeral Home were in
charge of Rev. Frederick Reinfurt
of Dallas Methodist Church,
