resident, has been seriously ill, and
is a patient in the Rhode Island
State Hospital where she is recup-
erating following an operation, She
is improving nicely.
Mrs. Claudine Tvede, ‘Ledge-
ways’ Lehman Township, had as
her guest on the Thanksgiving hol-
iday Miss Esther Lunning of Copen-
hagen, Denmark. Miss Lunning is
at present studying in Washington.

Harvey's Lake had as Thanksgiv-
ing guests their daughter and son-

Loren McCarty, who has been
spending the Thanksgiving week-

to Salsbury, Md. to accept a new
position,

Mrs. M. A. Wilcox of Lake road
spent Thanksgiving with Mr, and
Mrs. W. H. Lynch of Harrisburg.
They found nice weather in Harris-
burg, ice from Bloomsburg to Dallas
and snow in Dallas.
Mrs. Rachell Hoover suffered a
relapse at her home on Ridge street
the forepart of the week.
Mrs. Homer Moyer was confined
to her home on Lehman avenue
this week with a bad cold.
Mrs. Richard Palmer of Mill
street entertained Thanksgiving

Mr. Larson graduated from Joliet
Township High School and attendéd
Joliet Junior College. He served in
the Navy during World War 2 for
a period of nearly five years. He
is employed by the John Harry
Wholesale Meat Company in Jo-
liet.

The marriage of Miss Lillian
June Long, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. McKinley Long of Sweet Val-
ley to Norman Hans Iverson, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Hans Iverson of Nan-
ticoke took place at the home of
the bride's parents on Saturday,
November 26 at 3 o'clock. The
double ring ceremony was per-
formed in front of the fireplace
with a background of palms and
pink and white chyrsanthemums.
Rev, Ira J. Button, pastor of the
First Christian Church, Sweet Val-
ley, officiated assisted by Rev. Carl
S. Brandon of Centermoreland and
Miss Rose N. Costanza, Evangelist,
of Dunmore. ‘Miss Doris Cragle of
Sweet Valley played the wedding
music and accompanied the bride-
groom's sister, Miss Betty Iverson
who sang “My Task” and “Be-
cause’.
The bride's only attendant was
her sister, Mrs. Wiliam Ferrey of
Sweet Valley, Dayton Long, brother
of the bride was best man for Mr.
Iverson.
The bride was lovely in exclusive
“Rose Art Model” ankle length
white gown of French Chantilly
lace fashioned with a fitted bodice,
Queen Anne neckline, and a whirl-
ing gracious skirt. She wore match-
ing gauntlets. Her headress was a
bonnet effect of French Chantilly
lace and orange blossoms, Her only
jewelry was her mother’s pearls.
She carried a colonial bouquet of
white roses and pom pons.

The bride’s going away dress was

bodice and peplum, She had pink
and black accessories and a cor-
sage of yellow pom pons.
Following a brief wedding trip,
the couple will reside at Sweet Val-
ley.
The bride is a graduate of Gar-
rison Memorial High School, Shick-
shinny and Wilkes-Barre General
Hospital School of Nursing where
she has been a member of the nurs-
ing staff.
The bridegroom attended Harter
High School, West Nanticoke and
served with the Marine Corps dur-
ing World War II. At present he is
employed by the bride’s father.
Out of town guests at the wed-
ding were: Mrs, Boyd Smith and
children Sherwood, Nancy Lou and
Virginia Marie of Biglerville, Pa.,
Miss Pearl Edwards of New York
City, Miss Rose N. Costanzo of Dun-
