dissolved wrath and punishment in
most religions? Of course, that
may be the fault of the church,
not .of religion, but again in the
minds of most aren't the two—
that is the church and religion—
the same? And if so, doesn’t the
church need to give some serious
consideration to the fact if it hopes
to render to mankind the spiritual
peace that it promises?
A good many portions of the book
could be discussed at great length,
but there is no room for that in
this report. One point we should
like to make, though, is that this is
not another Dale Carnegie’s, “How
to Win Friends and Influence
People”, not even a Henry Link's
‘Return to Religion”, This is a far
more serious volume than either—
a book that needs to be considered,
first, in respect to its contribution
to religious philosophy ( and there
we refer to psychology as it was re-
ferred to in the early days before
it presumably became a science);
and secondly, as a practical vol-
ume with many sound ideas for
any one of us. Although we didn’t
mention it, the book is also well-
written, at points with a clear cut
lucidity that gives it a beauty all
of its own.
