WINS SIXTH PRIZE
IN NATIONAL CONTEST
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dol-
bear of Overbrook road re-
ceived word this week that
their four year old Gloria Rose
had won sixth place in a na-
tional “Cutest Kid Search”
sponsored by the thirty three
Berthold Studios. The local
branch studio alone had sub-
mitted 1,200 children’s pic-
tures. The award is twenty-
five dollars in merchandise.
The announcement came as
a complete surprise to the
Dolbears who knew } nothing
about the contest. They had
taken Gloria to the /studio_.ih
August when the temperature
was a hundred and five and
had hot-footed it back to the
cool country air without much
visiting. !

Bre Married 23 Years
Mr. and Mrs. Max Dreher of
Park Street, Dallas, observed their
twenty-third wedding anniversary
on November 18,
Mr. Dreher, a machinist, came to
America from Neuburg, Germany,
in 1925. His wife, the former Mel-
sine Schreiber of Lustinau, Austria,
followed him in 1926 and they
were married in St. Nicholas
Church, Wilkes-Barre, by Father
Goeckel. Mr. Dreher is now em-
ployed as machinist at Hess Gold-
smith, Wilkes-Barre.
The Drehers have two children,
Max, now a student at Penn State,
College served with U. S. Army
during the war. Herbert was grad-
uated from Dallas Borough High
School in 1949 and is now em-
ployed at Dallas Post.
They have been Dallas residents
for the past seventeen years.

Dinner Meeting at Club
The regular monthly dinner
meeting of the Rotary Ann’s was
held at Irem Temple Country Club
on Thursday with Mrs. D, S. Wil-
liams, new president, in charge.
Mrs. Paul Mulcie, Chairman of
the Wheelchair Committee, report-
ed that one chair had been return-
ed this month—with twelve regular
chairs, one walker and one work
chair in use, seven are in storage,
and available to anyone need-
ing a wheelchair in this “district.
Mrs, George Metz and her Shut-
in Committee, Mrs. David Jenkins
and Mrs. Hanford Echman have de-
livered twenty-nine boxes to shut-
ins.
Mrs. L. F. Kingsley has requested
all who can come on Tuesday, No-
vember 22nd to her home to sew
on layettes to do so—there was
one request for a layette at this
meeting.

Is Going to Austria
Pvt. Arthur Redmond is spending
a fourteen-day. furlough with his
parents, Mr, and Mrs. Frank Red-
mond of East Dallas,
Pvt. Redmond graduated from
the school of ordnance of instru-
ment repair and fire control at
Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Mary-
land.
He received his basic training at
Fort Dix. At the end of his fur-
lough he will report to Camp Kil-
mer, NJ. and from there will be
sent to Austria for two years.
