Bess Klinetob attended the Mass
Meeting ‘at Elmpark Church in
Scranton on Thursday.
Mrs. Zeke Hess spent Thursday
with Mrs, Stanley Post.
Mr. and Mrs, Charles Long and
family and Jay Long drove to
Newark Valley on Sunday for
Harry Edwards who will spend
sometime at the McKinley Long
home.
Mrs, Anna Koszinske, Miss Nor-
ma Drapewski and Dayton Long
were weekend guests of Mr. and
Mrs, Clem Koszinske at Baltimore,
Md. Friday they all visited the
Naval Academy at Annapolis. Fri-
day evening Dayton was guest
speaker at a young people's meet-
ing at the Assembly Church in
Baltimore.
Howard Diefendeffer received
word Monday of the death of his
brother in Wisconsin.
Mr, and Mrs, James Williams en-
tertained over the weekend the
former's sister, Mrs, Stella LeVan
and granddaughter of Philadelphia.
Frank Edwards and daughter,
Keziah, called at the home of
James Williams on Sunday.

Clark Smith of Allentown spent
the weekend with his wife and
mother, Mrs. Walter Smith. Others
who spent Sunday at the Smith
home were Mr, and Mrs. George
Smith and Betty of Wilkes-Barre
and Mr. and Mrs, Francis Smith
of Trucksville.
The Young Girls and Boys Sun-
day School Class of the Methodist
Church will hold a Hallowe'en
party at the churchhouse on Fri-
day, ' October 28. Prizes will be
given. Zel Garinger of Dallas and
Homer Middleton will entertain.

last week with her parents, Mr.

Bonning Jr. and daughter Beverly

sister, Mrs, Fiske for a visit.
Mrs. Cecil Sutton is a patient
at the General Hospital.

and Daniel, Richard and Mary
Claire Mckenna of Syracuse, N.Y,,
F 1/c Frank Mckenna, F 1/c James
Hogge of Philadelphia, spent the
weekend with Mrs. Claire Mec-
kenna. Mrs. Frank Wright re-
turned with the Griffiths to spend
sometime = with Mr. and Mrs.
George Wase. Mrs. Wase and in-
fant daughter returned home on
Friday from the Syracuse General
Hospital.
Mr, and Mrs. Howard F. Reilly
are spending sometime with Mr.
and Mrs, Paul Rice of Jersey Shore.
Mrs. Russell Spencer is a patient
at the General Hospital.

The sympathy of the entire com-
munity is with the family of Clar-
ence Dymond whose sudden death
brings us all to the realization of
how much we should make every
day count.
It was a boy for the Lester Mc-
Cartys. Nice going, Lester and
Alberta.
Mr, and Mrs. Herbert Goodwin
have returned from their honey-
moon at Niagara Falls and Canada.
Dr. Beck finished the medical
examinations at school this week.
We do hope parents will check
their child’s weaknesses and help
him live a better life.
Mrs. Addie Austin has been a
patient at the General Hospital
where her daughter, Mrs. Clyde
Eggleston of Vernon, has been a
patient for four weeks.
Mrs. Clara Smith has been with
Mrs. Charles Hilbert who has not
been feeling up to par.
All local rabbits and pheasants
take to cover! The local nimrods
have you spotted for.the first day,
Tuesday, November 1.
Two hundred written requests
for funds were sent by the local
service unit of the Salvation Army.
To date twenty townspeople have
responded. Aren't there more of
us who care about our fellowmen ?

HARVEY'S LAKE
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jackson and
Mr. and Mrs, Harvey Kitchen
motored to Poughkeepsie, N. Y.,
over the weekend, and were guests
of Mr, and Mrs. William Richards
and family.
Mrs. Kate Shultz, Mrs, Morrison
Witter, and H. R. Garinger are
patients at the General Hospital.
Mrs. Witter and Mr, Garinger sub- |
mitted to operations.
D. P. Thomas is ill at his home.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rauch,
Bradley Rauch, Mrs, H, R. Gar-
inger, and George Smith Jr., spent
Saturday afternoon and Sunday
with Mr. and Mrs, Peter Kuchta at
Hazleton.
Marjorie Wolfe, Virginia Wolfe,
and Lester Hoover called Friday
evening on Mr. and Mrs. Elwood
Matthews at Firwood.
Mrs. Albert Boone, who has been
a patient in Nesbitt Memorial Hos-
pital following an automobile ac-
cident Friday, is improving. She
suffered two broken ribs and a leg
injury.
Mrs. Gordon Yetter and Miss
Evadne Ruggles attended the Re-
formation Service, which was held
at Irem Temple, Wilkes-Barre, Sun-
day evening. The meeting was
sponsored by fourteen Lutheran
Churches. Highlights of the meet-
ing were the stimulating address
by the Reverend Charles B. Foe-
loch, PhD., Pastor of Holy Trinity
Church, New York City, and the
beautiful music by the Susque-
hanna Singers of Susquehanna Uni-
versity, Selinsgrove.
Mrs. Myron Trumbower spent
Sunday with her father and sis-
ters of this place. This week Mrs.
Kenneth Williams is the guest of
Mrs. Trumbower in South William-
sport. ;
Several attended the minstrel,
“Darkies’ Heaven’ presented by
the senior class of Lehman Town-
ship High School Friday and Sat-
urday evening.
Miss Beatrice Cornell while en-
route from Vermont to Florida,
spent several days with her broth-
er Willard Cornell and his family.
S/Sgt. George Gordon of Scott
Field, Ill. spent a few days with
relatives and friends last week.
Harvey Hughey is spending some
time with his sister and brother-in-
law, Mr. and Mrs. Olin Gordon,
Olin Gordon is ill at his home,
Mrs. Olin Gordon and brother, Har-
vey Hughey visited their sister,
Mrs. Lydia Covert who is a patient
in the Nesbitt Hospital on Monday.
Mrs. Boone has returned - from
the Nesbitt Hospital where she has
been a patient since her automobile
accident.
Ezra Daniels is able to be around
again.
Mrs. Letha Baker visited her
daughter, Mrs, William Price last
weekend.

Mrs. William Deets gave an in-
teresting report on the missionary
conference held at Dorranceton
Methodist Church at the meeting
of Alderson W.S.C.S. last Wednes-
day evening. Mrs. Warren Dennis
was ‘hostess.

son, Mrs. Harvey Kitchen, Mrs, Al-
fred Rogers, Mrs. H. R, Garinger,
