mitted last Wednesday, following
back injuries which he suffered
two days previously.

member of the U. S. Air Force.

The double ring ceremony was
performed by Rev. Arthur Andrews.
Soloist was Carl Greenly, brother
of the bridegroom who sang, ‘“Be-
cause’ and “The Lord's Prayer.”
The altar was attractively decor-
ated with palms and white gladi-
oli.
The bride, who was given in
marriage by her father, wore a
gown of white sheer nylon, made
with an off shoulder neckline, long
fitted sleeves and full train. Her
fingertip veil of illusion was at-
tached to a crown of orange blos-
soms. She wore a necklace of
pearls and matching bracelet, the

ried- an arm bouquet of white
rosebuds and orchids.
‘Mrs. Joseph Reeves, Washing-
ton, D. C., sister of the bride, was
matron of honor. She wore a
gown of blue net over lace .with
a bandeau of carnations and roses
in her hair and carried a colonial
bouquet of mixed flowers. Best
man was Roy Greenly, brother
of the bridegroom and ushers were
Philip and Clarence Jackson,
brothers of the bride. Following
a reception in the church parlors
the couple left on a trip to Atlantic
City. They will reside in Tunk-
hannock.
The bride was employed in the
Forty Fort office of the Common-
wealth Telephone Company. Mr.
Greenly is a member of the Tunk-
hannock Fire Department. He is
engaged in farming with his
brothers.
Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Weaver and
children have returned ,to their
home on Franklin street after a
trip to Canada. The Jonathan
Valentines stayed at the Weaver
home and took care of the baby
during their absence.

Quantico, Va., to bring home their
son, Ralph, who has completed
service with the U. S. Marines.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fleming
and family who have been mak-
ing their home with Mr. Fleming's
parents on Main road have pur-
chased the old Mosier homestead
at Kunkle, formerly occupied by
the Delet-Kanecs.
Mr. and Mrs. Alan Scattergood
and children, Alan and Linda will
arrive this weekend to spend two
weeks with Mrs, Scattergood’s

Mrs. Sarah Moss Is
Guest Of Brother
Mrs. Sarah Moss of Kingston,
formerly of Demunds road, accom-
panied by her daughter and son-
in-law and children, John and
Judy, motored to Rowlesbury, Va.
recently _ to visit Mrs, Moss's
brother, Frank, Bulford, whom she
hadn’t seen for twenty-eight years.
They returned by way of Washing-
ton, D. C., and visited many places
of historical interest.
Mr. Bulford who is nearing sev-
enty is in fair health and plans
to visit his relatives in the Back
Mountain Area as soon as he has
a cataract removed from his eye.
He has been living in Rowlesbury
for « the ‘past thirty-five years,
Peter Malkemes is on a business
trip to Chicago.
Mr. and Mrs, Donald Evans and
family are spending several day
in Atlantic City. :

To Wed David Perry Jr.
Mr. and Mrs. Dana Sickler, Car-
verton road, Carverton announce
the engagement of their daughter,
Lois Vivian to David Perry Jr., son
of Mr. and Mrs, David Perry Sr,
also of Carverton.
No date has been set for the
wedding.
Miss Sickler is a graduate of
Kingston Township High School,
class 1946 and is employed at the
Wyoming Frock Company in Wy-
oming. Mr. Perry was graduated
from Kingston Township High
School in 1945 and is engaged in
the painting business. He is en-
rolled in the G. I. School of Ag-
riculture at Lehman. During
World War II, he served with the
U. S. Navy.
Mrs. Asenith Davis Is
Guest On 81st Birthday
Mrs. Asenith Davis was guest of
honor at a picnic luncheon given
by Alderson W.S.C.S. at the home
of Mrs. John Daugherty, Harvey's
Lake, last Wednesday, when she
celebrated her eighty-first birthday
anniverary. She received a lovely
gift. Following the dinner, plans
were completed for the Flower
Flower Show which will be held
August 25.

Miss Yeust has chosen her sister,
Shirley Jean Yeust as maid of
honor. Bridesmaids will be: Aud-
rey Campbell and Peggy Dungey.
Best man will be Marvin Yeust and
ushers, Ralph Yeust and Ernest
Troubitz. Flower girl will be Carol
Jean Yeust.
A reception will be held at the
church following the ceremony.
Bride-elect is a graduate of Dal-
las Township High School and is
employed at Blue Ribbon Cake
Company. Mr. Sommers was grad-
uated from White Haven High
School and is employed at Farm-
er’'s Co-Operative Dairy at Hazle-
ton.

Sixth Birthday Party
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Harris of
Claude street entertained Tuesday,
August 9 honoring their son, Ern-
est Lee who celebrated his sixth
birthday anniversary. Ernie re-
ceieved a lot of interesting gifts.
