shower given at the home of Mrs,
John Doane, Oak street, Trucks-

Rev. and Mrs. Carl Brandon
Rev. and Mrs. Carl Brandon were
pleasantly surprised Monday eve-
ning when a number of folks from
Ethel Vivian, Mrs. John C. Lewis | the Beaumont Union Sunday School
last : dropped in to help them celebrate
their eighteenth wedding anniver-
sary and Rev. Brandon's birthday.
The Brandons head the Beaumont
Union and Centermoreland Bap-
tist charges.
Mrs. Brandon is the former Erma
Shupp, daughter of Mrs. and the
late George Shupp of Lehman. Mr.
Brandon is the son of Mr, and
Mrs, Herman Brandon of Lehman,
The couple was married by Evangel-
ist F. L. Whitesell in the Luzerne
parsonage. They have two chil-
dren, Carol aged eight and Emer-
son, aged twelve.
Before ‘coming to Centermore-
land and Beaumont, Rev. Brandon
was in charge of the Fairdale-Rush
Methodist Charge.
They were presented with a purse
containing fifty dollars by their
friends Monday evening.

Mrs. Marie Rebennack
Was Active in Grange
The funeral of Mrs. Marie” Reb-
ennack, 75, mother of “John and
Albert Rebennack, was held Tues-
day from the home in Meeker with
many friends and neighbors at-
tending. Rev. David Menges offi-
ciated. Bearers were: grandchildren,
Robert, Allen and Theodore Reben-
nack, and nephews, Robert and
Lavere Disque.
Interment was in Hanover Green
Cemetery.
Mrs. Rebennack had lived in
Meeker for nearly thirty years. She
was the widow of the late Jacob
Rebennack. In frail health for some
time, she was stricken with a heart
attack last Tuesday. Her condition
became critical with death occur-
ring several days later.
Mrs. Rebennack, was the
former Marie Disque, Wilkes-Barre.
She was a great asset to the com-
munity in which she lived. An en-
ergetic and enthusiastic worker, she
was greatly interested in Lehman
Grange and was an officer at one
time. Despite poor health, she for-
got self in promoting the interests
of the organizations to which she
belonged. She was also a member
of the W.S.C.S. and Ladies Bible
Class of Meeker Methodist Church.
She was intensely interested in
her home and her flowers and
spent much time in growing lovely
blooms of every sort. A fine neigh-
bor and loyal friend, she was held
in high esteem by all.
She is survived by two sons, Al-
bert, Kingston and John, Meeker,
Also a by brother, Louis Disque,
Wilkes-Barre, and six. grandchild-
ren.
Shirley Doris Brown
To Wed Donald Bunney
Miss Shirley Doris Brown, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. James Brown,
Shaver Avenue, Shavertown will
be married to Donald Robert Bun-
ney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
R. Bunney, Dallas R.D. 3 on Sun-
day afternoon at 2 p.m. in Shaver-
town Methodist Church.
Rev. Howard Harrison will per-
form the ceremony. Organist will
be Thomas Hontz and William
Burnaford will be soloist.
The bride will be given in mar-
riage by her father. Matron of
honor will be Mrs, Allen Montross,
sister of the bride and Miss Fran-
ces Mericle will be maid of honor.
Bridesmaids will be Ann Bunney
and Betsy Bunney. Gladys Louise
Ell will act as flower girl and ring
bearer will be Teddy Montross,
nephew of the bride-elect.
Best man will be Glen Burger and
ushers, Arja Brown, Alfred Brown
and Michael Hohol.
Following the ceremony a re-
ception will be held in the church
parlors and the couple will leave on
a trip to the Great Lakes. They will
reside at 186 Shaver avenue.
Miss Brown is a graduate of
Kingston Township High School and
is employed at Laros. Mr. Bunney
is a graduate of Dallas Township
High School and is employed at
Blue Ribbon Cake Company.

be given by members of the Dal-
las W. S. C. S. at her home on
Lehman avenue Tuesday afternoon.

will be used to purchase new equip-
ment for the Church kitchen,
