avenue is recuperating at her home
after suffering a fractured leg.

is ill at her home with rheumatic
fever.

had as guests on Sunday, Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Gould and son, Blair,
Clark Summit.
Mrs. Esther ManNeeley, Terre
Haute, Indiana is spending some
time with her niece, Mrs. David
Joseph, Norton avenue.
Mrs. William Bond, Shavertown
is recuperating at her home, after
having been a patient in Nesbitt
Hospital.
Mrs. John Roskis, Jackson Twp.
is a patient in Nesbitt Memorial
Hospital, where she submitted to
a surgical operation on Saturday.
Mr. Willard Lozo, E. Center St.,
Shavertown, has returned home,
after spending several weeks in
Temple University Hospital. He is
making a satisfactory recovery.
Mr. and Mrs, R. R. Hedden,
Machell Avenue will spend the
weekend in Washington and Beth-
esda, ‘Md. While in Washington,
they will visit Dr. and Mrs. Harold
Superko.
Invitations have been sent out
for the wedding of Miss Doris Mae
Hontz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas Hontz, Terrace Drive,
Shavertown, to Harry Hughey, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hughey, Fern-
brook. The wedding will take place
June 15 in St. Paul’s Lutheran
Church, Shavertown.
Hildegarde Ickinger, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Christian Ickinger,
Carverton, will graduate on June
3 from Kingston Township High
School.

Jr., Colorado, announce the birth
of a daughter on April 27. Mrs.
Cawley is the former Katherine
Gobel of Trucksville. They are also
the parents of a son, Thomas 3rd.
Sandra Lee Lamoreaux
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Lamoreaux,
Dallas R. D. 3 announce the birth
of a daughter, Sandra Lee on May
20 in Nesbitt Hospital. Mrs. Lam-
oreaux is the former Alice Lloyd.
This is their first child.

Nicholas J. Caves Are
Wed Forty Five Years
‘Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Cave of
Huntsville road are celebrating
their forty fifth wedding anniver-
sary , today, May 27 and their
daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. John Sheehan their fifteenth
with a family dinner at the Cave
home.
The Caves have four children,
all living Back of the Mountain:
Grace, at home, J. Sheldon, Ide-
town merchant, G. Wesley and
Verna Sheehan, within a stone's
throw of the homestead on Hunts-
ville road. Also five grandchildren,
John F. Sheehan Jr., Lynn A. Shee-
han, J. Sheldon Cave Jr. Mary

Have New Son
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cyphers,
Carverton, announce the birth of
a son, on Sunday, May 22 in Nes-
bitt Memorial Hospital. The baby
weighed 8 lbs. and 4% oz. Mrs.
Cyphers is the former Elizabeth
Shook, East Dallas. They also have
a daughter, Betty Jane.

Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Achuff of
Main Road, Dallas recently enter-
tained members of the Get To-
gether Club. The following were

Meets at Smith Home
W. C. T. U. of Shavertown
held a tea Tuesday after-
noon at the home of Mrs.
Francis Smith, Trucksvile. Mrs.
Isaac Brace presided. Money ob-
tained from the tea finished the
quota of the local W.C.T.U. for the
convention to be held at Philadel-
phia. Guests were: Rev. Myrtle
Mathers, Mesdames Scott Newberry,
Bess Brace, Miles Lamoreaux, Mrs.
Howlett, Katie Patton, Estelle Ma-
jor, Albert Major, Catherine New-
hard, Burton Gordon, Henry Cal-
kins, Bess Grant, Grace Brace,
Florence Williams, Hattie Smith
and Ruth Shaver.

Banquet at Huntsville
Mother and Daughter Banquet
of Huntsville Christian Church was
held Friday May 20 at the church
with eighty guests present. Mrs.
A. N. Garinger was toastmaster and
Mrs. R. S. Garris, song leader. Ac-
companist was Mrs, William Baker.
Toast to the daughters was given
by Mrs. C. H. Frick with Miss Han-
nah Culp responding with a toast
to the mothers. Several vocal num-
bers were given by William Burn-
aford. Mrs. Daniel Evans gave
readings and Patricia Clark enter-
tained with piano selections.
Tables were decorated with pot-
ted orchids and orchid candles.
Centerpiece was a bouquet of spring
flowers. Potted plants were given
to Mrs. Bertha Jenkins, oldest
mother; Mrs. Sterling Barnes,
youngest mother and Mrs. Hugh
Grose, mother with greatest num-
ber of living children.
