Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Culp of
Huntsville had as holiday weekend
gests their daughter and son-in-
law, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Mauro
and Barbara and Herbert of Mine
Hill and their son, Clifford of North
Carolina. Clifford came here on
business and made a surprise visit
with his parents.
Mrs. Elizabeth Moore of Sweet
Valley is making her home with
her niece and nephew, Mr. and
Mrs. Renald Davenport of Union
street, Kingston.
Mrs. Calvin Smith spent the
week-end with her brother Paul
Warriner, of Demunds Road.
Mrs. Warriner, who submited to
an operation at General hospital
recently is still a patient there but
getting along nicely.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Evans of De-
munds road had as guests over the
weekend the latter’s parents, Mr.
and Mrs. A. C. Henrie and Mr. and
Mrs. Harold Middleton of Hazle-
ton.
Dr. G. L. Howell who has been a
patient at University of Pennsyl-
vania has been removed to his
home on Carverton road, Trucks-
ville. His daughter, Mrs. Newton
Davenport of Kunkletown spent
Saturday and Sunday with her par-
ents.
Mr. and Mrs, William Templin
and daughter, Linda of Lake Nor-
den, South Dakota are spending
the winter with their parents, Mr.
and Mrs. R. J. W. Templin of Wood-
lawn Drive.
Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Reese who
have been occupying the Laux
apartment on Mt. Greenwood road
have moved into the John Reese
house on Franklin street.
Robert J. Ockenhouse who was
recently discharged after three
' years with the Marine Corps and
friend John Tyson of Durham, N.C.
are visiting the former's parents, |
Mr. and Mrs. William Ockenhouse
of Davenport street.
Horace and Martha McKenzie,
twin children of Mr. and Mrs. S.
H. McKenzie, Jr., of Lehman aven-
ue, celebrated their ninth birth-
day anniversaries on Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. William Niemeyer
of Davenport street had as recent
guests their daughter and son-in-
law, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Jones
and Beth Ann and Eddie, their
cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Thom-
as and their son Harold, all of Bal-
timore, Maryland.
Mrs. Ray Flanagan of Church
street returned from Detroit, Mich.,
last Tuesday after attending the
wedding of her daughter, Alicia
and Ray Alfred Baumgartner.
Burton Roberts has returned’ to
his home in Shavertown after being
a patient at Nanticoke Hospital for
two weeks as a result of a fall.

Mrs. James Haley has returned
to her home on Norton avenue
after submitting to an operation at
Nesbitt Hospital.
Mrs, Margaret Hildebrant of Nor-
ton avenue spent several days last
week visiting Mrs. Lena Titus in
Wilkes-Barre.
Mrs, Lewis Shaver of Jackson
street returned Monday from Gen-
eral Hospital where she submitted
to tests.
Mrs. D. L. Edwards of Orchard
street, Trucksville, and Mrs. Jack-
osn Tretheway of Kingston spent
several days this week in New
York City.
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Oberst, Z
mer residents of Main road, Dallas,
have taken up residence on Par-
rish street.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Thompson of |
former Dallas residents
spent the weekend as guests of |
Kingston,
the latter's father in East Orange.
The Thompsons went down es-
pecially to bid good-bye to a favor-
ite nephew who left Sunday for
China.
Ralph Lewis who has been mak-
ing his home in Wyoming with his
daughter has taken up residence
in Shavertown.
Lt. Peter Skopic who has been
stationed in the Canal Zone spent
a few days at his home this week
waiting for his transfer orders to
Germany. Pete paid the Post a
nice visit Friday in his shiny new
Oldsmobile.
Harry Ohlman was confined to
his home on Machell avenue last
week by illness.
Mr. and Mrs. John H. McCusker
will entertain at a dinner party
Saturday night at the Sheraeton-
Biltmore, Providence, Rhode Island,
for Senator Fred C. Broomhead.
Mr. and Mrs. Lee Shepperson
of Danville announce the birth of
a daughter, Margaret Louise, on
November 10. Mrs. Shepperson was
the former Naomi Higgins, R. N.
of Harvey's Lake.
Margaret Czulegar is a patient at
Presbyterian Hospital, Powelton
Avenue, Philadelphia, where she
underwent a serious surgical op-
eration on Saturday.

years World Series games via tele-
vision. Why this long? The FCC
(Federal Communications Commis-
sion) discontinued issuing new TV
licenses until after a complete
study of frequency assignments is
completed. It is estimated that

early spring and that new licenses
will be considered then.
