Fire Prevention Week
Dr. Henry M. Laing Fire Com-
pany in observance of Fire Preven-
tion Week, starting October 4, will
make the community fire-conscious
with a series of talks, movies, and
demonstrations.
The committee in charge is Fire
Chief Assistant
Chief James Gansel, Assistant Chief
Atlee Kocher, and Henry Peterson.
Chief Besecker will have charge of
the fire inspection and will distri-|
bute home inspection blanks and
literature to the schools.
Assistant Chief Gansel will have
charge of the fire-fighting demon-
stration to be held in central Dal-
las.
James Besecker,
Mr: Peterson will have charge of
talks at Dallas Borough and Dallas
Township Schools.
The demand for movies is so
great they are not available for
showing at this time. However, a
trailer film will be shown at Himm-
ler Theater during this time.
The fire-fighting demonstration
will feature operations involved in
actual fire-fighting. Connecting to
fire hydrants, pumping, scaling
buildings, and use of both fog and
water streams, will give the public
a graphic picture of fire-fighting
at its best.
World-wide Communion
World-wide Communion will be ob
served in Dallas Methodist Church
Sunday Morning at 11. A special
Fellowship of Suffering offering will
be recieved for war relief.

ior and Senior Women’s Clubs met
Monday night with Mrs. Frederick
Eck of Shavertown to discuss the
matter of obtaining suitable facil-
ities for their meetings.
