THINGS ARE CHANGED!
THIS TIME THE FIRE
WENT TO THE FIREMEN
* Sunday morning when Irving
Gloman and his son drove up
in front of College Misericordia
in their Chevrolet sedan, they
smelled smoke coming from
the rear seat. Without a
moment’s hesitation they head-
ed for Dallas and the Dr. Henry
M. Laing Fire Company.
When they reached Beseck-
er’'s Gasoline station, they
yelled “where’s the fire com-
pany?” “Right here,” some-
body answered. In no time
Jim Besecker grabbed the CO2
fire extinguisher hanging in the
station and extinguished the
blaze.
Damage amounted to $75 to
the upholstery and rear seat
of the car where some one had
carelessly dropped a cigarette.
“That’s the first time,” said
Chief Besecker, “that I ever
had a fire come to me; usually
I have to run after them.”
