the Himmler house opposite the
theatre on Lake street. Mr. Gal-
lagher is in the service but will
practise medicine in Dallas upon
his discharge.
Mrs. Floyd Sanders and daughter
Patsy of Pioneer avenue, are spend-
ing several weeks visiting the form-
er's mother at Negaunee, Mich.
Mr. Sanders drove them out and
stayed a few days.
Mr. and Mrs. D. T. Scott of
Huntsville road spent last week
touring through the New England
states and Canada.
Mrs. Velton Bean and son, Randy
of Jackson spent Wednesday at
Buck Hill Falls. Mrs. A. Parks of
Newark, N. J. was a recent guest
at the Bean home.
Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Hendricks and
daughter, Priscilla and son Jackie
of Lehman are spending this week
in Millersburg and Halifax, Pa.
B. G. Laskowski and family of
Jackson had as guests over last
weekend their son, Theodore and
a schoolmate, Ernie Olson Jr. of
Philadelphia. Both are students
at Bloomsburg State Teachers’
College.
Mrs. Lydia Cease of Jackson is
entertaining Mrs. Reta Miers and
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hawke and
Nancy of Mt. Top.
Mr. and Mrs. Howell Rees of the
Bahama Islands are spending some
time in New York City. They
expect to visit the former’s parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Crawford Henry at
Shickshinny the middle of this
month. Howell is a former editor
of the Dallas Post.
Miss Johanna Laskowski of Jack-
son is spending several days visit-
ing her uncle and aunt, Mr. and
Mrs. I. Skok in Wilkes-Barre.
Harry Covert of Colfax, Washing-
ton, former Dallas and Lehman
resident, is suffering from a broken
toe at his home. He dropped a
heavy roller on his foot while at
work.
Mr. and Mrs, Bernie Laskowski
and daughter, Shirley of Jackson
attended a wedding in New Bruns-
wick, N. J. over the weekend. Mr.
Laskowski gave the bride, his sister
-in-law, in marriage.
Mrs. Anna Beers of Hemstead,
L. I. is spending two weeks with
Mr. and Mrs. Niles White.
Dr. and Mrs. W. L. McCutcheon
of Berwick; Mr. and Mrs. George
McCutcheon and Miss Kathleen
Clark of Ontario, Canada were the
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Niles White
over the weekend. :

Sedler, all of Dallas, spent the
weekend in Atlantic City.

pital, is spending a month with

Griesing of Franklin street.
Dana Lee who has been studying
in Germany for the past year will
arrive in New York City Saturday
on the Blanchard.

returned to her home in Easton
after spending two weeks visiting
her son and daughter-in-law, Mr.

Ocean Grove and Asbury Park.

Kunkle are visiting the latter's
brother in Dayton, Ohio this week.

are staying at the Henney farm.
Raymond Kuhnert Jr. and Robert
Henney of Kunkle enjoyed a canoe
trip above Tunkhannock last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Z. E. Garinger of
Lake Street spent the weekend in
Manheim. They visited Longwood
Gardens and attended the Open Air
Theatre and Fountain Display Sat-
urday evening. :
Mrs. Helen Mazer has feturned
to her home on Long Island, N. Y.
after spending several weeks visit-
ing her son and daughter-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Mazer at Leh-
man.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Robins and
family have returned after spend-
ing a week at Asbury Park, N.J.
Mrs. Albert Hontz and son, Ron-
ald of Mooretown visited Mrs. Anna
Kocher at Dallas on Monday.
Wesley Himmler showed motion
pictures of his and his wife's
travels last Wednesday night at
the home of Mrs. Morgan Wilcox.

Mrs. Nelson Whipp of Church
street entertained members of her
birthday club at a chicken and
waffle dinner last Thursday. Baskets
of sweet peas made an attractive
party table.
Guests, many of whom went to
school together years ago, enjoyed
a good old fashioned visit and a
jolly afternoon of fond reminiscing.
Cards were written to Mrs. Norton
Montross of Luzerne and Mrs. Sam
Woolbert of Shavertown who were
unable to be present on account
of illness.

marriage of Miss Shirley M. Goss,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Basil
Goss of Claude street, to C. Doug-
las Reese, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Charles J. Reese of Collingswood,
N. J. Rev. Frederick Reinfurt will
perform the ceremony in Dallas
Methodist Church Saturday, August
21 at:2 P.M.
Attendants - will be Miss Joann
Reese of Collingswood, N. J., sister
of the bridegroom, and Kenneth
Grailer of Schuylkill Haven. Henry
Schultz of Wilkes Barre will be
usher.
Following the ceremony, a re-
ception for friends and members
of the family will be held at the
Country Club.
Miss Goss is a graduate of Dal-
las Township High School and
Drexel Institute of Technology. She
was a member of the faculty of
Moravian College for Women at’
Bethlehem.
Mr. Reese is also a graduate of
Drexel and served as a fighter pilot
in the U. S. Army during the War.
He is associated with the Scott
Paper Company at Chester where
the couple will reside.
Miss Sandra Rogowski, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred J. Rogow-
ski of Pike's Creek is spending the
remainder of the summer with her
aunt, Mrs. Edison L. Henish at
Canandaigua Lake, N. Y.
Miss Shirley. Goss of Claude
street spent several days this week
in Philadelphia and Chester.
Karen and Lee Culver of Machell
avenue are spending several weeks
with their grandmother Culver in
Maine. :

burg State Teachers College, is

Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Kulp of
Kingston have moved into their
new home at Goss Manor.
Louise Frantz, of Machell avenue,
is one of the 3000 students reg-
istered at Harvard Summer School
of Arts and Sciences and of Ed-
ucation. Suspended since 1941, the
re-opened school includes students
from 46 states and 37 foreign
countries. :
