Lt. and Mrs. William Dierolf of
Panama Canal announce the birth
of a five pound baby girl, Janine
Margaritas Wednesday, May 26.
Mrs. Dierolf is the former Dolly
Sawyer of Church street. The baby
is named for her sister and her
mother, the late Mrs. George
Sawyer.

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur K. Gensel
of Fernbrook announce the birth
of a baby girl, Nancy Lorraine in
General Hospital Saturday, May
22. Mrs. Gensel is the former
Betty Sutton, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. H. C. Sutton of Lehman.

Mr. and Mrs. Angelo Giunta,
Memorial Highway, Dallas, an-
nounce the birth of a daughter
at Nesbitt Memorial Hospital, May
25th. Mrs. Giunta is the former
Miss Kathryn Sgarlat, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph C. Sgarlat.
Mr. and Mrs. Alan Scattergood
and family of Crescent Park, N. J.
spent the weekend with the latter’s
mother, Mrs. Melvin Mosier of
Kunkle road.
Rev. and Mrs. C. H. Frick, Pikes
Creek, accompanied by Mrs. M. C.
Frick spent Sunday night at the
home of Mrs. C. A. Frick, formerly
of Wilkes-Barre in Hagerstown,
Maryland. They then continued on
their trip to Dayton, Va., to attend
the graduation exercises of their
daughter, Helen R. Frick who was
one of the sixty-nine students grad-
uating from the Shenandoah Con-
servatory of Music. Helen, a grad-
uate of Forty Fort High School,
received her degree in church music.
She will return with her parents
for the summer.
Mrs. Gary Heishman and chil-
dren, Gary, Bruce and John, of
Camp Hill spent last week with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Shields,
of, Fernbrook.
Mr. and Mrs. Irving Thomas of
Newark, N. J., spent the weekend
and holiday with their parents,
Mr. and Mrs. John Shields, of
Fernbrook and Mrs. Minnie Thomas
of Shavertown. A
Mr. and Mrs. Lou Taylor of At-
lanta, Ga., are visiting the latter’s
mother, Mrs. F. M. Gordon, of Nor-
ton avenue. Miss Shirley Heffley
of Duncannon, Pa., and Edward
Garry, Jr., of Harrisburg are also
spending a few days at the Gordon
| homestead. They will be the at-
tendants at the Phillips-Simonton
wedding today at noon.
Mr. and Mrs. A. Bowman of
Church street spent Wednesday
and Thursday in Philadelphia where
Mr. Bowman attended a business
meeting.
Mrs. B. B. Lewis is confined to
her home at Woodlawn drive with
a sprained ankle.
Mr. and Mrs. William Richards
and children, Keith and Karen, of
Poughkeepsie, N. Y., spent the holi-
day weekend with Mrs. Richard’s
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jack-
son, of Harvey's Lake.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Booth and
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jackson of
Harvey's Lake spent an enjoyable
day Sunday at LaBar’s Nursery in
Stroudsburg, where hundreds of
rhododendron and azaleas are in
full bloom.
Mrs. L. E. Beisel returned to her
home at Meeker last Sunday after
attending the wedding of a friend
in East Orange, N. J. Her daugh-
ter, Edna Marie, returned with her
to spend the holiday weekend. Wil-
liam Beisel of Philadelphia also
spent the weekend with his par-
ents.
Grover Anderson of Harvey's
Lake has been a patient. at Nesbitt
Hospital where he was under ob-
servation.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Harvey
of Woodlawn road had as guests

Neil of Wilkes-Barre, Mr. and Mrs.
Ernest Stiles of Plymouth and Earl
Mason of Fernbrook. Tuesday the
Harveys entertained Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Sawka of Plainsboro, N. J.
Mr. Sawka and Leonard were in the
Coast Guard together.

The thirty-first alumni banquet

Flies To Detroit
Billy Wolfe of Lehman avenue
left by plane yesterday for De-
troit, Mich., where he will spend
the summer with his aunt and
uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Craw-
ford. He left the Avoca Airport
at 11:44 a. m. in a D.C. 3 for Buf-
falo, N. Y. From there he travelled
in a D. C. 6, arriving at Willow
Run, his destination, a little after
two. It was his first plane ride—
and a thriller!
Mr. and Mrs. James Wilson of
Franklin street entertained over
the weekend their son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John
Wilson and Virginia of Charleston,
W. Va.
Miss Beatrice Hildebrant re-
turned to her home at East Dallas

Crenshaw on Saturday, May 29th,
at an 11 o'clock wedding in the
Little Chapel of Glenn Memorial
Church. Rev. Nat G. Long per-
formed the ceremony and the music
was presented by Mrs. Bayne
Smith.
The best man was William T.
Gillham and the ushers were J.
Herburt Liles and Cameron R.
Hope.
The charming bride was given in
marriage by her father, Lou P.
Taylor. She wore an aqua gaber-
dine suit with a matching French
felt hat and carried a nosegay of
gardenias and swainsona.
Mrs. William T. Gillham, matron
of honor, selected gold gaberdine
suit with a brown straw hat and al-
ligator accessories. She carried a
nosegay of talisman roses and yel-
low snapdragons.

family and out-of-town guests. As-
siting were Mrs. P. M. Gilbert, Mrs.

Mr. and Mrs. Crenshaw departed
for a wedding trip to the North
Carolina and Smoky mountains.
They will visit in Dermott, Arkan-
sas, before returning to Atlanta to
reside.

Miss Henrietta Schimmel, daugh-

ris King, East Center street, Shav-
ertown, on Saturday, May 22, at
7 p. m. in St. John’§ Lutheran
Church, Nanticoke. /

performed the double ring cere-
mony. Miss Dorothy Koepke was
soloist, accompanied by Robert Du-
deck, organist.
Miss Mary King of Philadelphia,

Henry Schimmel, Jr., brother of
the bride, were the attendants.
The bride, who was given in
marriage by her father, wore a
white Palm Beach suit, a white
and a corsage of orchids.

The bride’s mother wore a black

accessories and wore a corsage of
pink roses.
After a reception at the home of
the bride the couple left for a trip
through the New England States.
They will reside in Trucksville.
Mrs. King was formerly employed
by Moses Griffith, realtor. Mr.
King is employed by Al Tamanini,
contractor, in Luzerne.

Returns From Dog Show
Margaret Cottle, Shavertown, re-
turned last Monday evening after
visiting on Long Island and in New
