Mrs. Shallanberger was the organist
at the Fisk-Swan wedding in the
Idetown Church on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert London
spent Saturday with Mr. and Mrs.
Albert VanCampen of Beaumont.
The Confidence Class will have
a Birthday Tea at the churchhouse
on April 27. There will be enter-
tainment and refreshments.
Fire Company To Meet
Dr. Henry M. Laing Fire Com-
pany will discuss Spring Clean-up
Week and its Scrap Salvage Drive

Church Tuesday.
Business consisted of: voting to
give $5 to the American Bible
Society; plans to send knitted
strips for three afghans to Mother
Moore for the sailors and soldiers;
naming of nominating committee
for election of new officers; reports
from various directors; naming of
candidates for May 20th conven-
tion; discussion of the film, “It’s
the Brain that Counts”, now being
shown in Back Mountain Schools
under the direction of the W.C.T.U.;
invitation to members to attend
a tea held at First Methodist
Church of Wilkes-Barre in honor
of Mrs. Emma Leonhard, Thursday,
April 29; request that all entries
in the poster and essay contest
be sent to Mrs. C. S. Hildebrant
as soon as possible so that awards
can be made.
Little Cynthia Disque was re-
ceived as a member of the L. and
L. Division and Mrs. Daisy Prynn
welcomed as new member.
The program: a clarinet duet,
Mary Lou Elston and Carol Trethe-
way; a playlet, Mrs. Ella Major,
Mrs. H. M. Howell and Mrs. F. K.
Abbott; records on the church
amplifying system.
Refreshments were served by
the Lehman group.

Union ‘held a union service at Rey-
burn Saturday afternoon and eve-
ning, also Sunday afternoon. Rev.
Russell Edmondson of Shavertown
will be the speaker Saturday and
Gregory Kline of Berwick on Sun-
day.

Allegheny County was derived from
