All facts are to the reverse. Japan, oung indicated, is so badly liked in China that it has only the hope now of saving its face from disaster. Yes, it was a gem of recounting that was fused out of the war talks of the men who were there, a gem with all the facetts brilliantly clear and shining their true worth. In 1926 he was elected to the office of the Superintendent of Luzerne County Schools, the po- sition which he now occupies. Hav- ing achieved in full the goal which he had set for himself when he was a child, he now put another before him; namely, that of elevating the standards and bettering conditions in Luzerne County schools. In 1926 Mr.. and Mrs. Cope with their son and daughter moved to Trucksville where they have lived ever since. Mr. Cope enjoys baseball and often goes to see the Barons play, usually accompanied by his son, Donald, a freshman at Wyoming Seminary. He also joins in the im- promptu ball games held in his yard. Although not a movie fan, Mr. Cope enjoys pictures like “Buck Private” which provide a form of relaxation from his routine office work. His favorite form of amusement at home is helping Donald with his home work, although he admits that he knows far more about mathematics than Latin. He likes traveling and recently made a trip with his daughter, Vir- ginia, inspecting colleges. Virginia plans to enter Wellsley College next year. His hobby is gardening and that, coupled with the fact that he loves the country, made him select Trucksville as the ideal place in which to live.
